Oct. 2nd, 2013 01:03 pmThe no tags reveals went up, and I wrote Snapshots When Time Stopped for the prompt Pete/Mikey, a happy ending. I usually write away from my usual pairings for no tags, but I was late getting to the claim post, so didn't have much choice in terms of left over prompts. Plus, I always love writing about Pete and Mikey, and enjoy thinking about how they can get their happy ending. Which of course leads me into one box/two spoons. You keep tweeting and making me happy Mikey and Pete &them;
I'll be putting the story up at AO3 soon, but until then, if you want to read it's at the comm.
We got a shock yesterday when Corey's college phoned to ask where he was. As far as we knew he was at college, had left just before eight as usual, and we weren't expecting him back until the afternoon, but his lecturer said he hadn't been in for his lesson. Cue panic when Corey wasn't picking up his phone so it kept ringing out. Looking back now it seems like a huge over reaction, but Corey has never bunked off a lesson, from college or school, so we even got to the point of phoning hospitals. I tell you, never have I been so glad to see him walk through the door. It turns out there are two Corey's in his class, and one hasn't been turning up for lessons. The lecturer obviously got them mixed up, and James was furious. He called the college and was given a promise the lecturer would call him back, but he never did. And it's just not about the stress, which thankfully lasted less than an hour, but the fact if he's messed up attendance officially it could affect Corey's grant, too.
Mam got out of hospital on Friday, and promptly didn't speak to us over the weekend. It seems her reasons were that the house was too cold, which was apparently our fault for messing with the heating and that when James washed her dishes he left one to soak because it was set on with gravy. This is despite the fact that day he'd been sent home from work sick, and yet still drove to get her from hospital and then tidied up while I sorted a weeks worth of her new meds out. She eventually answered the phone on Monday, so we called up after getting her shopping, and that night she told Kayleigh I'd lied about telling her my brother would be taking her to her heart procedure today. That night there was even a 'I hate liars' status on her Facebook for that extra awesome touch.
I called her out about that yesterday, and she said she knew I'd jump to conclusions, that it wasn't about me and that I wouldn't even have seen if James hadn't told me as I didn't use my fb, which is true, but even so. Obviously he'd tell me. What she was pissed off at this time was she had to go for a heart test/procedure thing today, and as James is at work, I'd arranged for my brother to take her. Mam wasn't happy at that at all, said he'd not turn up, would be late, that she'd get an ambulance, even though she'd made no attempts to even start to arrange that.
I was talking to Kayleigh a few days ago, and while it sounds bad, we both said we were glad it was Chris that was taking mam today, as she's terrible hard work at the moment. Even this morning I got a foul mouthed tirade that Chris wasn't going to turn up, even though it was still five minutes before he was due. In a way it feels worse that she's saying this stuff now as when she's nasty when drinking I can always blame the alcohol. At the moment, not so much.
Saying that though. I suspect this anger could be fear based and she's lashing out due to that, so I am still cutting slack. She's just phoned and is out of her procedure and while there's no concrete news, the doctor said her heart wasn't in that bad a shape and she could take it as good news. So, hopefully she'll calm down a little.
My dad's partner is having a hip replacement today. She's in a hospital on the way home from James' work so for the next few days at least he's going to be making a little detour and bringing dad home. It'll make things easier for dad which is great, but it's going to be making an extra long day for James.
And now I must tidy the tip before the cat hair reforms into another cat.

What on earth, how can people make mistakes like that? Doesn't he KNOW he has two people with the same name in his class ergo he needs to pay attention and make sure which is which? That's so irresponsible. I can't imagine the fright you got. <333

I know, right?! It's also annoying that the lecturer still hasn't phoned like the college promised.

Are you sure you would even notice one more cat? ;-)

Date: 2013-10-02 07:40 pm (UTC)That's terrible about Corey's college! I had a lecturer that kept marking me absent even though I was in, but they didn't have the excuse of someone else with my name, they were just being careless /o\

Yeah. It kind of is. Thank you ♥
Ahahaha, probably not. The things are everywhere!
