Oct. 22nd, 2013 05:00 pmIt's been too long since I've updated.
Things with mam got bad, all kinds of annoying, back to okay and have stayed that way for a few days now. So, fingers crossed and all that. She's finally made a decision to stay in her own house and have a stairlift fitted -- part of the annoyance I mentioned was she kept changing her mind what to do, stay in the house with permanent adaptions or wait for a bungalow, and needed to talk about it endlessly -- which means she'll be able to get upstairs and use the bathroom. So, tomorrow we're taking her to a place to get assessed for a stairlift, so hopefully she'll have that independence back soon.
I went to the walk in centre yesterday as I've had a painful knee for a while, not the actual kneecap but behind where the ligaments are. Then a few days ago the pain got worse and spread, so I figured it was best to get it checked out. Thankfully it didn't take too long at the walk in centre, and while there they made an appointment for my GP for today. I went there this morning and saw a new to me doctor, and she was so lovely. Checked my leg and knee out thoroughly and discussed what she thought was wrong and what we could do about it, and best of all, didn't lecture about my weight. She agreed with the doctor at the hospital and thinks I've pulled or damaged either the ligament or muscle, so I've now got painkilling gel and tablets. Hopefully they'll kick in soon as while I can get around, I'd like to do so pain free.
I got my bandom holidays assignment and am very happy about it.
I've also started to watch Sleepy Hollow and am enjoying it a lot. What I'm also watching is The Face. I don't know if anyone else watches as I'm used to watching dodgy reality TV on my own, but my goodness, Naomi Campbell is a terror as a mentor. If I was on her team I'd want to be running for the hills. And I've just seen there's an American version and Naomi is a coach on that, too. I really don't need to add anything else to my download folder as it's growing at a scary rate at the moment. But I'm so tempted to download and watch.
We've been getting the garden ready for winter. It's so sad binning all the finished plants, but, the other day dad came to visit and I gave him two Shirley tomatoes. He went off holding them in his hands, and when I was at nanna's on Sunday said they were the best tomatoes he'd tasted all year. It was an awesome moment, all the hard work and advice paying off.

Oh, Sleepy Hollow! I love it, but I hate the horror parts. /o\ Abbie and Crane are wonderful, though, and I love what they're doing with the characters.
Awww, your dad and the tomatoes. <3333

Date: 2013-10-22 05:16 pm (UTC)I hope so too, especially as sitting too long at my desk starts my thigh hurting. Stupid leg. But yeah, that doctor was so fantastic. I'd go and see her again in a heart beat.
I've only seen the first two eps of Sleepy Hollow, but they're so much fun. Abbie is amazing. I love how she just rolls with things, but in her own sort of disbelieving and yet not, way.
I was proud he liked the tomatoes :D

*more hugs* EPPPP on your knee but yay for getting a nice/awesome doc who wasn't preachy and down on anyone for anything.

Date: 2013-10-22 07:48 pm (UTC)Everything looks so desolate when the green stuff is all heaped on the compost instead of flourishing where it should be. Oh well. Congratulations on the awesome tomatoes!

Date: 2013-10-27 12:01 pm (UTC)Thank you, and yeah, the garden looks so sad at the moment. Made worse that everything is so wet so can't have a final tidy.

Date: 2013-10-27 12:02 pm (UTC)It wasn't fun in the slightest. It feels so much better now, whether that's due to not feeling it due to the painkillers or it's actually healing I don't know.
It really was.

Of course you can. You know I like hearing from you.
