It's like one step forward, one back around here right now.

Last night my computer died. It was working fine, I went into the kitchen, came back and the hard drive had gone. I had no warning so have lost everything, music, tv shows, fic I've saved. But, I can get those back and have my iPad so I'm not totally cut off, even if things are taking much longer to do. Thankfully there's an iPad keyboard I can fit and I'll have to get used to the email that's not set up how I like it. Even so, I'll be glad to get my main computer back.

Not that it's actually gone anywhere yet. I just hope it's not too expensive to fix.

Computers dying is one of the worst things. It feels like you are losing your life, I think.

It's just take me forever to work out how to sync the keyboard. I'm on about 5 words minute right now *g*

Also, no mouse feels like my hand has been chopped off.

Oh nooo, that sucks. :(( I hope fixing won't take too long and won't be too expensive! <33 Losing files is the worst, I keep my stuff on three separate hard drives (but none of them overlap, lol /o\) so it's always just hoping that none of them breaks when I move stuff between them or w/e.

Thankfully I keep a lot of media stuff on an external drive, like my bandom media which would be impossible to recover fully. But I need to copy you and start storing other stuff on externals, too.

I miss my computer a lot. The iPad is great for casual browsing etc, but my PC has everything important.

Well, getting it fixed was a financial hit. But sad to say, I can't really cope without it.

Terri! I just discovered that unbeknownst to me, I seem to have unsubscribed from you somehow on DW and haven't been seeing your posts! I don't know how I could have done that. I feel dumb for thinking you hadn't posted for a while and not checking it out before now. I am sorry for having been silent on my end. D: It was not by intent but by stupidity. D:
