Jul. 27th, 2014 05:43 pmThe photo Gerard posted of him and Mikey made me so happy this morning. It's been a while since they were pictured together, and the last picture wasn't the best either, especially of Mikey. So it's lovely to see them both looking so good.

It's been very warm around these parts lately, uncomfortably so at times. Which is fine when I'm pottering in the house with the fans blowing or just in the garden, but anything involving any effort at all means getting overheated, sweaty and just, ugh. But, on the plus side, things in the garden continue to thrive.
Thanks to
gorgeousnerd I found out you could get the Sims2 Ultimate collection free until the 31st of this month. I saw the post, remembered how much of a time suck the Sims is when I have it available to play. Rationalised to myself downloading wouldn't be a good idea, and one minute later had clicked the link and started the process to have Sims back into my life once more. As did Corey, so we're two happy Sims fans at the moment. I mean really, all that content for free, how could I resist?
While I haven't read any BBBs yet I've seen quite a few I'm really eager to read. Hopefully tonight after I've made and eaten tea. But way to go bandom people for yet another great turn out of stories.
Earlier I was out in the garden when mam appeared at the back door saying she was traumatised. Which was a shock as she doesn't tend to come to our house that often. It turns out that she'd been sent a fake Facebook message saying her account was blocked because of porn and dirty language use. On a close look it was apparent that it was a fake, but mam didn't know that, and had come hurrying down to mine, iPad in hand. It just shows how easy it is to food some people with those kinds of scams. Thankfully mam knew enough to get it checked before clicking the link, but if we didn't live so close no doubt she would have clicked to try and unblock her account, which of course was never blocked in the first place.
One down thing. Our hoover gave up the ghost earlier, which is a bad thing when you have four constantly shedding cats. Mam's sent hers down for today but we'll need to buy a new one very soon. Money, you get it in one hand and it's snatched out of the other.

Date: 2014-07-27 08:54 pm (UTC)I think it's uncomfortably hot in the whole of Europe right now. It's certainly horribly hot here too. Even though we haven't had it quite as bad as a bit further north in Sweden where they've had temps of over +30C for a week now! It's "only" been around +28C in the afternoons though that's plenty bad enough for me!
Tsk, tsk. You really have no resistant to temptations at all :-)
Did you get to read any BBBs this evening? I just finished the Killjoys Gerard/Mikey and it was wonderful. I totally recommend it!
I find a working hoover is a must even when you only have one cat so I can well imagine the horror of not having one with four! Good luck finding a new one that's not too expensive.

Date: 2014-07-28 02:17 pm (UTC)30C+, that's a horrible temp! I'm glad we haven't gone that high, it's bad enough as it is. It is lovely to sit and enjoy the sun and heat, but it gets relentless when you have to actually do something productive. Which sadly we all have to do at some point.
Nope, I really don't.
I didn't. Because I'm an idiot I made a roast dinner for tea, what with the oven going, mashing potatoes etc I was good for nothing but a cool shower and flopping on the couch on the evening. But I'm going to start on that one you mentioned, you've made it sound wonderful.
I've just been using mam's hover again, and the difference between her expensive one and they one we had is very apparent. I've just given the cat towers and good going over, and the hair that came off them is ridiculous.

You know, that's very true. Thank you!

Date: 2014-07-28 10:05 am (UTC)It's super hot here, too, around 30C. The worst is that my room gets super hot with the computer on all the time, even when I leave both windows open, augh. Then again I never wanna complain too much because I don't want to go back to 17C and rain.
I got the Sims 2, too, thanks to
That sucks about the fake message your mam got. :( I always feel really bad for older people who are taken in by those types of scams, it's so shitty. It's great she could get it checked out through you and knew to come ask about it, etc.

Date: 2014-07-28 01:10 pm (UTC)I hope Mikey posts lots on his IG, though I'll continue to be amused at the fuss about only getting one with his actual name.
30C. Gah, too hot! I wish I could open my windows wide, but the cats would get out. The fan does a good job, though.
Yeah, it was years ago I played, too. In my popslash days in fact as I had boybands sims and used to post their adventures on my LJ. Fannish sims, they're the best. Not that I have any yet.
It sucks about those messages, and the people that create them should be ashamed, but I know they won't be, not in the slightest. I'm just glad she did come and check it out with me, even if it took me a while to explain that she hadn't actually been kicked from the site.

Date: 2014-07-28 07:28 pm (UTC)Sims! I never got into that, but maybe you can change that for me when I visit.
Good luck getting a good vacuum cleaner.

I'm still using mam's hoover at the moment, but James should hopefully be calling in and getting a new one after work. I'm going miss mam's though. It's a beast of a thing, so powerful I'm surprised it doesn't suck the pile out of the carpet.
