Aug. 7th, 2014 05:11 pmCorey went off to Bloodstock today, a heavy rock festival down south. It's his first festival, first time away with just his friends in fact, so I had a little pang watching him go this morning with his stuffed rucksack complete with a bottle of tequila and pot noodles. But, I trust him completely and know he'll have a good time.
Bake Off started last night \o/ I'm not sure if it's early or not but it always feels like an autumn show to me.
I got a postcard from
dine. Thank you so much!
My niece has changed her instagram name that includes references to both 1D and 5 Seconds of Summer. She's also posted 1D fanart she's found and I suspect could easily topple into fandom.
I've been reading BBBs and out of the three I've read so far I've enjoyed every one.
I've already mentioned
ladyfoxxx's excellent story, but I've also read Charmed Heart by
akamine_chan and it was so good. Seriously good. Mikey/Frank, Lindsey/Gerard, magic, amazing world building and an ending that had me on the edge of my seat. I loved it so much.
The other story I've read is On Dust Storms of Rebellion which is killjoys Mikey/Brian background Gerard/Frank. In a comment reply to me the writer said they were worried people would avoid the story because Mikey/Brian is a rare pairing, and it would be a big shame if they do, because this story is good. Interesting world building and I really liked Brian being involved. I'm just glad there's going to be another part due to it ending on a bit of a cliff-hanger.
I have others I'm looking forward to reading, too.
Raiding my instagram. James had to go to a different clinic in Newcastle a few days ago, so on the way home we stopped off at St Mary's Island. It was so busy there, so many people picking winkles and rock pooling. James is actually in that photo, the white blob at the end of the causeway.
And my nod to throwback Thursday. A photo of Corey back when he was a toddler and his whole world was hoovers, cars and Thomas the Tank Engine and not heavy metal music and computers.

Date: 2014-08-07 06:47 pm (UTC)I'm looking forward to reading more. It's been a busy start of the week but I'll be hitting the masterlist again tomorrow.
St Mary's Island is lovely. Very small, but surrounded by so many interesting rock pools when the tide is out. Not that I was exploring them, I was happy watching.
I am having a good week, hope you are, too.

Date: 2014-08-07 06:39 pm (UTC)So being fannish is a family trait, that's really cool!
I opened that Killjoys story in a tab yesterday but so far haven't been in the mood to start reading. Tomorrow maybe...
What pretty place! And what lovely weather!
*giggles* Corey's expression in that pic is hilarious. Also, it's amazing how much he's grown in such a short time!

The killjoys story is really good. The addition of Brian is an element I really enjoyed and I'm looking forward to the next part. It's just a shame you're not into the pairings for Aka's story because I think you'd have really enjoyed it otherwise.
St Mary's Island is lovely. Very small and crowded the day we were there.
He's grown so much. And yeah, his expression cracks me up in that picture. Like he's just had enough already *g*

Date: 2014-08-08 01:45 pm (UTC)So happy that Bake Off is back. Fairly sure it is earlier, based on how many episodes I normally see before I go back to uni compared to this year.

Date: 2014-08-08 03:15 pm (UTC)Yeah, I thought it seemed early. Not that I'm complaining as such. Now I just hope the new extra show is good tonight.

Date: 2014-08-09 01:50 pm (UTC)I had to smile when I saw Keira posting fanart. I do wish she didn't follow me on twitter though. The only plus to that is she seems to have forgotten about her account.
I am. Aka's was fantastic.
