Snowflake Challenge Day One

Not a real life Christmas/New Year update yet. That will come later, but it's Snowflake Challenge again. So on we go with day one.


In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

This is hard because the stories I remain the most proud of haven't changed for many years. I obviously peaked too early, which is a sad thing.

So I'm going to pick other stories that I like but aren't the usual Crimsion Skies, WDINA, SoundTracking, Painted Ponies etc list, but you know, will still mention them here just because I can.



Ten Rules For Looking After Mikeyway. I picked this because it keeps getting kudos, and it still surprises me that this particular story gets so much attention. It's old, was written fast and to me, isn't that much of a standout. And yet, the kudos keeps rolling in so people must like it.

The Trails That I Follow. I have to admit, I picked this because I got a really lovely comment about it recently. But it's a story that I still like and really does sum me up writing wise in many ways. A story written for the h/c challenge, Way bros moments, Bob and Brian included, group interaction, planes falling from the skies, pain, alluded to death and destruction, all the good fic things in life. Plus, one of the best beta memories ever when I tried to end the story at a point themoononastick didn't find acceptable at all.

Summary:

Written for the bandom_hc challenge on LJ.

Prompt: 335. plane crash!MCR! The guys are flying in a storm, in a private jet (just the band, Brian and Worm) when the plane crashes in the ocean. The guys end up stranded on and island, waiting for rescue. Heartbreaking scenes with Mikey cradling Gerard's unconscious body to his chest and rocking. Bob trying to hide is serious injuries from the rest while working hard to build shelter and find food. Pairings optional but Bob-centric is prefered. Lots of boys trying to act like everything is going to be okay while being scared to death and trying to take care of each other.

For my third, I'm going to say something new. It tends to get lost at times because as you may have noticed, I do have quite the love of writing h/c, but I also really enjoy humour. I used to write a load of crackfic and humour stuff in popslash, and I still do so in bandom occassionaly. Which is why I'm picking this, as I had fun writing it, and as much as I am known for h/c, I like to think that people enjoy the humourous stories, too.
