We've been to the hospital today so James can get his arm checked, and he's been discharged \o/

It was a bit of wait to get the xray done, but after that we were in to see the consultant immediately, and out within minutes. He said the break is healing beautifully, and that he's pleased they decided not to operate as he suspects it's healed better this way than it would have done with rods. That means James can leave his brace off if he wants, but what he's going to do for now is leave it on when he's walking outside, because another fall on that arm would be a disaster. But for in the house it can come off, so that's great news.

After we went to a takeaway we both love. It's a very basic place, with different dishes depending on what day you go, including a mixture of African, Malaysian, Thai and Filipino options. Sadly the last two times we went James got raging indigestion, so today he got the blandest dishes on the menu, and it happened again. I guess there's just something about the way they prepare their food that doesn't agree with him now. Which is a shame as the food really is delicious.

I submitted my bbb and have my beta back too. There's very little to change so the editing won't take long at all, so I'm ready and waiting for a posting date. Now if only I could think of a decent summary.

A few weeks ago [personal profile] sperrywink recced a The Sentinel/NCIS/Stargate crossover, one that was 126k long. I ploughed my way through that yesterday and man, I enjoyed it. It had a very old skool feel to it, and it was just a great way to spend the day. Read a few chapters, go off and do something, read some more, do some more, rinse and repeat over and over.

Of course, yet again, that got me thinking that there should be many more bandom The Sentinel AUs. And then I was checking friendsfriends over at LJ and saw one was being posted as a wip. It was like magic. I haven't read yet but I have it tabbed.

what great news about James' arm! so good to hear he's done so well

I'm massively curious - what's the epic crossover? because I'm fond of all those fandoms, and can totally enjoy old skool fics

So pleased to hear that James is doing better. Shame about the digestive problems—I get that kind of reaction myself at times. I blame excessive garlic, if there can be such a thing.

It's sooo great to hear Jame's arm is healing fine. And it's totally smart to keep wearing the brace outside considering it's more protection while more healing continues.

YAY getting your beta back*spinhugs you*. You are greatness.

That's wonderful news about James' arm! I'll keep my fingers crossed it will be a very long time before something happens to him again.

It sucks that his digestion is acting up and preventing him from enjoying exotic food.

Hooray for easy editing!

I've never been that interested in Sentinel AUs. Maybe because a lot of it seems all about the h/c? I don't know.
