I can't believe it's June already. How did that happen?
James has had the last week or so off. It was originally when he was supposed to go to France with the scouts, but as that didn't happen we've been out and about during the days instead.
One day we took my Sil, MiL and Amber for a ride along the coast. Another we took nanna to Barnard Castle.
As you know, I enjoy my time out with nanna. She's getting even slower now, so we did a good job blocking the pavements as we toddled half way up the street and back again, nanna holding my hand all the time. We hadn't realised it was market day when we arranged to go, so that on top of it being half term holidays for the schools meant it was really busy. Which was fine except the fish shop she likes to eat in was rammed. Instead we had a pub meal, and I suspect there was only one cook working as the wait was really long for what turned out to be a bog standard from the freezer meal.
There was another family sitting next to us, another nanna and I assume her two grown-up granddaughters. That nanna started complaining about the wait, and my nanna wanted to know what was going on. So we told her, at which point she looked at them and said, well it's tough cheddar.
Then we went to the toilet. Nanna was in one cubicle, I was in the next one, and I heard a load of banging, clattering, and nanna shouting for me. I told her I was coming as fast as I could, meanwhile someone was asking if she was okay from outside. It turned out it was one of the granddaughters who was very concerned about what was going on.
Nanna was fine, btw. Just the toilet was too low and she couldn't get up. Then she went off to cause havoc in a posh deli style shop where she wanted a salad box, but not much salad and without any of the more adventurous options that came with the price. In the end they gave her a small salad with cheese, tomato, lettuce, coleslaw and she was very happy with that.
It's supposed to be a hot week this week, but instead yet again it's cold, windy and grey. I've just been re-potting the courgettes as they were bursting out of their pots, and was glad to get in.
Fannishly, I love that Kristin has found Christa on twitter and they've exchanged tweets, because to me that means Mikey is introducing her to Ray and his family, and that's just a lovely thing.
I still haven't read any of the bbbs, but I have lots I want to read and two that have jumped out at me in terms of I need to read them asap. I've had a small handful of comments on mine, which is happy-making as I knew the gsf and M/G pairings would put off some readers.
ETA: I forgot I was going to say something else about my bbb. James has been using twitter more lately, mainly because it allowed him to follow the scouts this last week. He's been retweeting a lot, mainly scout stuff, but when I announced my bbb on twitter he retweeted that too. If his scout leader friends followed the link I hope they enjoyed it /o\
It's the My Kitchen Rules Australia final episode tonight. Which I was looking forward to in two ways, both I want to know who wins and also that it meant a show was finally finished that's shown five days a week. Then I saw the next season starts tomorrow. Why must I be addicted to Australian cookery shows. It makes no sense! Please Masterchef Australia, don't have a new season when this one finishes at the end of the week.
I need to reply to some comments and stuff but first a shower as I have a hospital appointment tomorrow, and turning up with compost in my hair and dirt under my fingernails wouldn't be a good look. Plus, I'm working my way through the Mercy Thompson series of books right now and I need my werewolf, shifter and vampire fix.

Have you gotten any guest kudos on your BBB? I'm sure that's the scout leaders :-)
I hope today's hospital appointment went well.

Date: 2015-06-03 10:33 am (UTC)I love spending time with nanna. She makes me laugh so much.
Ahahahaha, I have. It may well be the leaders. I never thought of that.
IT did go well. Lots of waiting as usual, and I need to go back in a few weeks. But, nothing bad.
