Jun. 13th, 2015 08:49 amAfter a week of sunshine and heat it's back to being over-clouded again. It looks like it may rain too, which the garden will be happy for, me not so much as we have things to do soon.
It was my youngest niece's first birthday yesterday. We dropped off her gift and then took her, my sil and mil off to pick up the birthday cake and supplies for the party, with a stop off for lunch at the beach.
Today it's Amber's party. That's 1-3 but we'll be ferrying party food, supplies and people around before hand, and after will be doing the same in reverse, though with hopefully much less food. Though saying that, the in-laws always over-cater, so I suspect we'll be coming home with lots of leftovers.
Talking of nieces, I don't think I've mentioned this here. My oldest niece has fallen into shipping Dan and Phil from You Tube. She's being fannish about them without being in an actual fandom as far as I can see, but that has to be really close. She's already a pro squeeing over shippy pictures on Instagram, and a few days ago thanked Dan for saving her life, to which all I could think is, is this a thing in every fandom now?
A few weeks ago she also posted a photo of early days Panic v2, and no, just no. I'll encourage her all the way fannishly, think it's great that she's on the verges of something that has the opportunity to be a huge part of her life for a very long time, but finding my AO3 account if she eventually looks for Panic fic? No.
Meanwhile James is kinda muttering, but she's only a bairn, she's only 11. And yes, yes she is, but fandom, man, it can grab you early and not let go.
I should go make a move, but before I do, have two photos from the garden from the other day. We've so many plants in the greenhouse, and the main Shirley tomatoes already have fruit. We've also got hundreds of other plants that need potting on and some giving away. Pauline's daughter is getting a load tomorrow and we're donating some to a local community garden shop, but we still have so many I can see a future of standing at the garden gate asking any passer bys, 'do you want a tomato plant? Are you sure you don't want a tomato plant? They're free.
Or I won't show you the photos as I can't get them to display today and don't have time to work out why. If you do want to see, they're at my account.

Date: 2015-06-17 03:19 pm (UTC)The situation with my niece is so weird. I love that she is becoming fannish, but it's far too close for comfort.
Thank you! I have no idea why they wouldn't embed. Hopefully I can sort it out next time.

You will have to urge the niece towards a fandom you've never written in!

Date: 2015-06-17 03:22 pm (UTC)My niece is embracing the emo at the moment. I'm hoping she keeps on shipping Dan and Phil and just enjoys the bandom stuff for music. I still get cold chills when I remember her saying she'd found MCR.

That's always what happens when you grow seeds - either none sprout or they ALL do. Good luck getting rid of them.
What is the pink-purple flowers in the second picture? They look pretty. Very airy.

I have to admit I can't remember the actual name. They're something that came back from last year, but yeah, they are very pretty. They're still flowering now, though not as nice as before.
