turpsTwo posts in a day, what is this madness!?
But I've been reading bbbs again today and wanted to recinlovewithnight's burned, about to burn, or still on fire .
Sex, drugs, rock & roll, psychic abilities, and a few shapeshifting dragons.
(Or: Gabe is a dragon, Pete is his treasure, and Mikey is a pyrokinetic who lights his fire. From New Jersey pop-punk to rehab and starting over, they orbit each other.)
It's so great, happy, sad, compelling and just beautiful with such lovely world building. I loved it loads and made me fall in love with Mikey, Pete and Gabe all over again.
While I'm here I also want to rec They Fall Like Acid Rain by SunshineAndRoseWater
With their leader missing the Killjoys start falling apart. That is until Brian comes to them with news of a new threat in the Zones, something BLI is calling "Annihilators." Mikey, lost without Gerard, has turned to drinking to cope. It all changes when he comes face to face with one of the Annihilators and survives. With the help of Frank, Ray, and his on-again off-again boyfriend Brian, Mikey sobers up and prepares to face the most dangerous threat they've ever seen.
I read that a while back just after it was posted and really enjoyed it. It's a nice take on the killjoys universe and was a hit to the heart and gut in all the right ways.
Next on my list for tomorrow isdoctor_jasley's fic and I'm sure that'll be great, too.
Now though, I'm off to watch some My Kitchen Rules Australia.
