Earlier, I got a text from Rosie saying she's going to send out a survey about what people think of the weight management programme and what else we'd like her to include. But also, that she was thinking of changing the day of class, so it won't be on a Monday at 11am but instead on a Tues/Wed or Friday morning at 9:30. And, do not want. I like having class on a Monday, so I know my week has started. The survey hasn't come yet, but I really hope the majority don't want a Friday.
My MiL's visit went well, and we dropped her off home on Monday. Like I mentioned in my last post, she watched the Sunderland match with James -- they won, yay! on Saturday and on Sunday we went out for lunch at Prego, the restaurant we like at the seafront. We had a nice day, but then my MiL wasn't feeling well in the evening
My MiL is diabetic, but it's controlled by tablets. Well controlled I thought, but after she had that bad night, she told me the next day that she's actually going to have to take insulin soon, and will change to it when she sees her diabetic nurse this week.
Because she had that bad night, she didn't feel up to even trying to get into Corey's flat as it has two steps to get inside. So, our visit happened in the driveway. Still a good time and I got to hug the stuffing out of him, but not ideal.
And an edit to this after my MiL phoned earlier. She apparently felt ill enough to ask my SiL to get her a doctor's appointment yesterday and is on antibiotics and steroids for a nasty chest infection. So, that must have been brewing, too.
I watched the series finale of The Last of Us, and I already had a hate of screens going to black after I invested months of my life binge-watching The Sopranos only for it to end on a black screen, and then TLOU did the same. I was not impressed.
Unlike last season when I didn't check spoilers at the end, I'd learned my lesson this time and wanted to be prepared, and honestly, can't say I'd be happy at what has been suggested based on the game play.

misbegotten 's rec, I've been watching The Pitt, and man, what a show. I was so invested, and watched the last ep this afternoon. Talk about a gut punch and something wringing all emotion out of you. It's such an interesting format for a show, with each episode being an hour of the shift. I really think it works very well in terms of engaging the audience, and I'm really interested in how season two will work considering the format.
But yeah, a rec from me too if you like gritty medical shows with excellent writing and characters.

Date: 2025-05-30 02:11 am (UTC)I've been digging around for info on the new Planet Fitness being built near me. What I found said it will open in early December of this year. I hope that's the case. I did sign up for emails about the location and haven't even received a, "you're now signed-up" email, so no clue if I will ever hear from them, or not. But I did order a bunch of workout gear so I should be all set to start going. I just need to stick with it, like you do!

Sounds like you're going to be all ready when that Planet Fitness does open. I'm sure you will stick with it, you've improved your fitness/weight before, you can do it again.

I'm glad you had a nice day, but too bad your m-i-l started feeling ill. It's a good thing she was proactive and got that dr appt!
I keep thinking about how much we were robbed of some great Joel and Ellie bits because they did the season in 7 eps instead of 9.

Date: 2025-05-30 03:26 pm (UTC)I do hope we do get to keep Mondays, but it does look like Rosie wants to move. Which would make sense as we've lost a lot of class time recently due to the amount of bank holidays. Still, I'm used to Mondays now.
I knew my MiL must have been feeling terrible when she mentioned having that appointment. She's terrible for hiding when she's not well. Which is very frustrating as it tends to lead to her becoming much more ill than she needs to be.
I know, I still can't believe the season was so short. They could have easily fleshed things out so we got that content.

Good to hear the MiL visit went so well! Sad that she started to feel ill though but hopefully the meds will soon have cleared up the chest infection *sends lots of healthy thoughts*

Date: 2025-06-02 03:41 pm (UTC)Sadly, Rosie had to cancel class today so I still don't know when or if it's going to move in the future. I really hope it doesn't go to a Friday, though.
Thank you!
My MiL is starting to be on the mend, just slowly. It shows how ill she must have felt asking for a doctor's appointment as normally she suffers in silence.
