Do you check your e-mail/friendslist first thing every day? Before breakfast? Before going to the bathroom? In the middle of the night as you walk back from the bathroom?
I'd be ashamed to say how often I check my flist. One thing about being a stay at home mam I can check LJ as often as I like, and that's a lot. Morning routine is get up, make breakfast for Corey, get him and James ready, wave goodbye as Corey goes to school then check mail and flist as I eat my own breakfast. I'll check it until I go to bed, whenever that is *g*
How many times do you check your e-mail a day? Once? Twice? More than five? More than you can count?
Well it's set to check for new mail every 5 minutes and beep if there is any, so if does it itself. If I hear a ding I'll see what's been sent.
How about your friends list? Do you jump at the sight of the pretty flashing icon from Semagic that tells you someone's posted?
Don't have that. Just refresh over and over.
How many times a week do you read fanfiction? If you're a writer, how often do you sit down to write? Do you carry a notebook so you can write down story ideas while you are out on the town? How about when you're at work?
OMG! When don't I is the better question. I read every day and also have a palm pilot filled with fanfic for when I'm out and need a fix. I sit down to write every day, whether I do or not is another matter. I'm very easily distracted. It's been known for me to check mail follow a link and surface from a site three hours later...sigh. I don't carry a notebook, maybe I should.
Do you ever get so desperate for fanfiction you'll read in fandoms you know little or nothing about? Even if the story isn't that good?
Not really. I have to at least know what the characters look like and some basic facts about the show. If I don't know that I might as well read something original.
Do you ever spend more than you can really afford on fannish things?
Nope. Sometimes I've spent a lot on fannish stuff but I've always been able to spare the money.
Do you either go to a con every year or desperately wish you could?
I like cons but they're not something that I have to attend so no.
