In brief.

We've been to see Deadpool today. What an excellent, enjoyable film. I loved it loads. If you haven't been to see yet and intend to, remember to wait for the end scene.

I also got to have a nice long chat about movies with the guy in the cinema. He made me smile because he kept calling James, sir, and me sweetheart. I know a lot of people bristle about pet names but I'm used to them being used in the NE. Pet, sweetheart, hinny, it's all good.

I also got stuff from Lush -- I know, you're all surprised -- and James got me some clothes for my birthday, including this dress. Though I am considering making my instagram private. I'm just getting comfortable posting pictures of myself, so getting likes from random people who seem to have no connection to me whatsoever is a bit disconcerting.

In all truth, I've yet to hear someone saying something outright negative about Deadpool. That's not to say that everyone who's seen it loves it. I was initially enthusiastic about it then (for whatever reason) the trailers for it turned me off but a combination of Ryan Reynold's interviews + people's reviews have put me on the Yays side once again.

It'll be a few days before I get to see it myself, but I'm definitely excited. :)

I know a lot of people bristle about pet names but I'm used to them being used in the NE. Pet, sweetheart, hinny, it's all good.

I use all kinds of pet names offline (mostly honey, darling, babe, and, if we're close friends, I use bro. #IDEK). Unfortch, I wasn't aware that some people really dislike pet names or even nicknames and got sorta told off by an ex-coworker for not using her "proper name". As a result, I try to be more careful about pet names/nicknames but can't say I'm truly successful in curbing their usage. Especially if I consider the person a friend. \o?

It sounds like you'd a great Monday. Your new dress is fabulous! So colourful and happymaking.

It's interesting about pet names in the UK and the US. I don't know about other non-English-speaking countries, but here in Sweden we don't use pet names at all. And we're contrary enough to not use titles either. If someone adressed me as "fröken" (miss) or "damen" (lady, ma'am) I would think something was very very wrong. Or that whoever did it had timetravelled from the 60s :-)

I'm so glad you enjoyed Deadpool. I'll be watching it this weekend, so I'm more excited about it now.

The dress is lovely, and you look really beautiful on it.

Such a pretty dress (I've started following you btw, I'm floweringc over there :))

I'm weird about pet names, but generally only if they're used to me when I'm working (there's a definite power dynamic thing with that), but in that situation I think it's quite nice (although our local go to is "hen", which isn't terribly lovely).

Yay Deadpool! It struck me while trying to describe to the BFF (who isn't in fandom) why I liked it, and why it probably wouldn't be such a hit with her, that Deadpool is a fandom movie. Just the way Deadpool approaches things, and the humor. I had a hard time describing why, but it makes perfect sense inside my head, just like fandom.

You look fantastic in your new dress! It is made up of pretty flowers.
