turpsI'm looking forward to this so much. All the Kerrangs and EC albums will be mine!
On the Way bro theme. I was at my In laws during the week and new fannish niece asked me if I knew that Gerard was going to make an announcement this month and she was sure MCR were getting back together. I told her that would be great but I doubted it, but I was looking forward to Mikey's new album. And she didn't care! Sadly to her Gerard is everything, even Frank doesn't get a look in.
And there was this, which actually happened on the 18th. I guess if Mikey and Gerard couldn't have performed again for my birthday Chris and Joey recording together was a very nice alternative.
Back to the in laws. My baby nephew has been in hospital all this week. Poor little guy, he's on oxygen due to breathing issues and they still don't know when he's getting out. My SiL just moved a few weeks ago and now she's been sleeping at the hospital all week while the new house gets more and more untidy and chaotic. It doesn't help that the whole family have colds. So we took my MiL and toddler niece out for the day during the week as neither had left the house in days. Then yesterday nanna called in her birthday dinner so we went out to eat with her.
But now it's bath and book time. I've been mainlining the Psy Cop books this week and I'm mostly really enjoying the series so that's what I'll be reading again. Then tomorrow Corey's coming to visit for mother's day so I'm looking forward to that.

It's so weird, you know, because every so often I wonder what would an MCR reunion be like? Given that it didn't happen because of animosity and all that. Sometimes it feels like EVERY BAND is getting back together (even the Pixies which I was almost 100% sure it was never ever going to happen). I've got conflicting emotions about this. OTOH, it'd be MCR back onstage playing music as a unit. OTOH, I think that a lot of fans would be expecting them to be EXACTLY THE SAME as they were and that's impossible. I love Revenge!era as much as other people but that's something that happened many, many years ago.
If anything, it'd be interesting to see because they've had all these individual experiences gigging and putting out music on their own. That said, it's not like they haven't remained friends so I'd think an MCR reunion wouldn't be as awkward for them.
ION, it's super neat that the 'Nsynch dudes gave you something for your birthday. Your boys are so thoughtful. ;)
Poor baby! I hope he gets better soon.

And thank goodness for that! I see there's more Mikey stuff in the mag next week. If it tops this week I may not survive the experience!

I suspect she's getting her info from tumblr, and a very young section of tumblr at that. On her FB she keeps posting MCR memes, but no actual current info. But she's happy and really, I'm sure we've all wanted them back at some time.
Which leads nicely to, I think about that at times, too.
I'd love to see them perform again, but I suspect if they did there would be a huge explosion in the fandom and not all of it good, simply because they would be so different. It happened before, which sucks because no way should they stay static in their looks and sound.
I suspect for many people the thought of a reunion would be better than the reality. Like my niece, she's in love with the Gerard who saved lives and he's not that person any more.
Which is me agreeing with all that you said.
Saying that. I'd still love to see them do a show together. Like Nsync who one day just turned up and sang a national anthem together despite being in their so-called hiatus for years at that point. It was unexpected and awesome and I'd love to think that one day MCR decide to just play together for the hell of it one time.

I'm interested to see what Joey and Chris are up to. It feels like I haven't heard anything new from those too in ages.
Thankfully baby Matthew is home now. He was let out late yesterday, and hopefully stays home now.
