Apr. 18th, 2016 12:53 pmI got a surprise super soft and knitted gift from
turlough today. Look!. Isn't it adorable? Thank you so much, Turlough ♥
I've been watching Joey and Lance singing BSB karaoke on the cruise and really enjoying it. It's nice to see they still have those boyband dance moves down.
We used to have a Co Op supermarket just over the road from where I live. That shut last year, and a month or so ago they finally started to demolish it because there's going to be a Lidl there. Which is fantastic, I love Lidl and the Co Op was always too expensive to buy more than a few odds and ends. But man, getting the new shop is noisy. I thought the worst of the noise would have been when they were demolishing, but that's not the case at all. The pile driving takes that award. They used to start at 8am but lately that time has been creeping earlier so it's usually quarter to eight when the noise starts. Which is fine for me as the vast majority of time I'm awake then, but I feel sorry for anyone close who wants a lie in.
Because I like to keep you all informed about the weather, it's really windy here. But it's also sunny so I've washing on the line, but each piece has about five pegs holding it down. Yet I'm still constantly checking my trousers aren't flying away to get snagged on a crane.
I've been checking out Musketeer comms but it seems the fandom is up in arms because some people are watching the new season via a weekly live stream, others have been able to see the full season as it's available in its entirety via netflix in some countries while others are waiting for the BBC to show the eps in a few weeks. So lots of upset posting is going on how fandom has been ruined because the watching is fractured and everyone won't see at the same time and how that's wrong and horrible!
So I backed away slowly and instead will just post on my journal even if only two people actually watch or know the show. Not that I actually have anything to post about now, but you know, for the future.
Aka has posted a new Frank/Mikey story. This makes me the happiest! I actually sat and read It Came From Within a few days ago and was reminded why I love the pairing so much, and that I really love how that story turned out. And talking about unexpected good bandom fic, last week
anotherslashfan posted a SoL Mikey/Pete story that's just lovely. Three Conversations.

Date: 2016-04-18 01:36 pm (UTC)OMG pile drivers at 8am is atrocious!
It is sunny and calm here. Nice change of weather for us.
Ahahaha, fandom will always find something to be upset about.

Date: 2016-04-18 02:22 pm (UTC)It is. They're working on a Saturday lately, too. They had a new annoyance this afternoon, a squeaky drill. Now that was piercing.
Sunny and calm sounds good. I'm enjoying seeing the sunshine but could do without the wind. My trousers look like wind socks on the line *g*
That's very true. I do feel for the people waiting as tumblr is full of spoiler pics and gifs, but you really can't control when and how people watch source material. Personally I'm waiting but I don't blame anyone for watching now if they can.
Also, I've just watched LoT and did not expect that! Also also, tell me there's a thousand Len prison fics in the fandom because there should be! Now off to read your fic.

Date: 2016-04-18 03:31 pm (UTC)Ahahaha, yeah, I was lucky when it was truly windy and cold here, I was in the Pacific Northwest.
OMG, I am already avoiding Tumblr because of Civil War spoilers, so I feel their pain, but welcome to the modern world, it is what it is. *stupid Tumblr spoilers*
Right?!?!?!! And Rip was such an ass! And poor Mick and Len!
Unfortunately I don't think there are a 1000 prison Len fics. /o\ Unless they are in the Mick/Len part of fandom, but while I like their friendship a lot, I don't ship them. I'm still rooting for my crossover pairing of Len/Eliot Spencer from Leverage. *g*

Date: 2016-04-18 04:07 pm (UTC)I feel sorry for you trying to avoid spoilers for CW, especially as it's coming out earlier in many places. I've got tickets booked for the 2nd, but don't worry, I won't tell you anything.
He really was. I know he's focussed on his family and mission, but he needs to see that the team are actually people and not just there for him to push around and use. What he said to Mick was horrible, too. No wonder he reacted the way that he did.
Typical. Not that I want to ship them either, but it just seems the opening was there. You keep waving that crossover flag. It makes a lot of sense. And you could get away with lots of meaningful silences, rolled eyes and very little dialogue!

Date: 2016-04-18 04:40 pm (UTC)Lidl is SO much better than the co, but construction is never the best - hopefully the pile driving will be done soon.

Date: 2016-07-04 01:43 pm (UTC)The Lidl has a roof now, it's interesting seeing it go up. Especially as the noise is mostly over with.

Date: 2016-04-18 05:18 pm (UTC)Building noises are horrible! They start early in the morning and go on for the whole day and there is just no escaping them anywhere! (And the building site I lived across the road from started work at seven o'clock in the morning! Horror!) I'll keep my fingers crossed they'll finish up that Lidl quickly.
It's been really windy here too and also rainy and cold. I stayed indoors all day :-)
Is that fandom filled with newbies? Or possibly very oldbies who've been hiding under a rock for the last ten years? Anyway, backing away sounds like a very sound strategy.

Date: 2016-04-19 03:27 am (UTC)My main annoyance is actually street repairs. Due to a combination of heavy population plus good old pocketing the money, the city has several ongoing projects happening. All the freaking time. :|
Huh, not for nothing, but those Musketeer comms sound a bit wackadoodle! Short of a global jump backwards/massive EMP things happening a la Dark Angel (TV show), watching TV shows (hell, enjoying most media) is going to be fractured. Not everyone has the patience or time to watch a show per episode, the rise of binge watching (which I'm rather meh about), and easy access to media all mesh together.
I mean, as long as people aren't being jerks and posting spoilers without any tags/warnings, those who complain about the fandom being ruined need a chill pill the size of Alaska.
It was neat to wake up to a Frank/Mikeyway story for meeeee! Sadly I'm not going to read it until tonight because I was up til v., v. late reading a book. /o\ #FrankxMikeywayshipperFAIL
