A varied day today. It started by going to Pauline's because she had some photo albums of dad's that she wanted me to have, ones from when me and my brother were kids. So it was lovely to have those. She also let me look through her photos and take a few of dad that I liked. It was so nice to see him looking so healthy and happy. He so sick by the end that sometimes it was hard to remember what he'd been like in the past. I may share some of those photos tomorrow because there's some good ones.
While at Pauline's she was telling me some of the things nanna had been saying. She's been in a strange mood lately, including refusing outright when I asked her to be our second witness. And the thing is, I love nanna so very much, but sometimes she can say things that are horribly insensitive. Like yesterday, I wasn't at hers as James was at work but Pauline was, and nanna had made a comment about how Corey calls Pauline gran. It's something he always has done, Pauline was with dad since before Corey was born and my mam and the MiL are his nanna's, while Pauline is gran. Nanna asked why, and then said that Pauline wasn't his gran so shouldn't be called that. And just, there was no need.
After Pauline's we went to Metrocenter and I bought a swimming costume -- and stuff from Lush, but really, everyone expects that. The first one I tried on came with a bit of drama as when I tried it on the pin holding the sensor to the suit came off. I didn't realise and managed to stab myself in the toe with it. Which I didn't realise until I looked down and saw bloody patches all over the floor. I told the attendant, who was pretty useless, but she did bring the manager who came with the first aid box and a nurse in the next cubicle was helping too -- which was a bit of an overkill, but she was lovely. So there I was, toe bleeding, sitting in a swimming costume in front of a group of people.
After that it was grocery shopping, boggling at the fact it kept snowing and hail stoning, a visit to see mam -- and man, already there's juggling going on wedding wise, and she told me that as the MiL is buying the cake she's going to pay for me and her to get our hair and make-up done on the day. It is a lovely gesture and I'm pleased about it, but even so, hair and make-up. Me? Yikes.
And for some reason thunderbird isn't working, which is a bit concerning. It's saying I haven't had an emails at all since first thing this morning, which I very much doubt. However, sorting that out will have to wait as I have new Game of Thrones to watch, and haven't been spoiled yet. So, I'm going to love you and leave you and go to watch that.

Date: 2016-04-26 08:27 am (UTC)I know I need to get used to people seeing me in a bathing suit, but I could have thought of better ways for that to happen *g*
I was amazing at remaining unspoiled, and enjoyed the ep. Now there's a whole week to wait for the next!

Date: 2016-04-26 02:49 pm (UTC)I really don't know what gets into Thunderbird at times. I much prefer using it than web gmail, but sometimes it just doesn't want to cough up those emails.
How are you, bb? Still working hard?

Date: 2016-04-26 04:02 pm (UTC)Ah, Nanna, sometimes she is so off-the-wall. You're right, the relationship is there in spirit.
Hope you had fun with Game of Thrones!

Date: 2016-04-26 04:18 pm (UTC)I don't get nanna sometimes. I'd love to know if she's always had no brain to mouth filter or if it came on with old age.
I did! In true GoT style there were lots of NOOOOOO! moments. A few YAY! moments and yet more evidence Sansa is the best ever.

Date: 2016-04-26 06:31 pm (UTC)Eeeep! I hope your toe didn't take any serious damage. Also, that's not the way I would chose to show off myself in swim suit for the first time. Though I guess it's one way to make sure you're too concentrated on something else to be nervous.
I don't think I would want someone else to give me a make-up. Hair and nails yes, but having them muck about with my face just feels wrong to me.

Date: 2016-04-27 07:27 am (UTC)Apart from a bit of a puncture wound me toe was fine. But yeah, sitting there in my swim suit wasn't the way I'd choose to display myself the first time.
I hardly ever wear make-up, so don't know how it'll feel to have it done. I guess I'll wait and see and if it doesn't feel right just stick to hair only. Though at the moment I'm back to wishing I'd stuck to just me, James and Corey only.

Date: 2016-04-30 11:29 am (UTC)As for nanna. She just doesn't think sometimes.
Nope, that wasn't fun at all, but as you know, the gift card was a good ending.
Lol, me/Lush is an excellent otp. I sometimes think I shouldn't pay so much for thing I could get much cheaper elsewhere, for example, bubble bath. But it's my kind of self care using products I genuinely love a lot.
