Apr. 26th, 2016 02:49 pmIt's a horrible day today. Hail, snow, rain and so damn cold.
I need to move the couch and hoover behind it as my brother is hopefully coming to help take it around to the garage later. Which means we'll be sitting on cushions tonight, but that can't be helped. I've also got a chicken curry in the slow cooker so no cooking needs to be done around couch shifting time.
Good things. I loved the photo Kristin and Mikey posted of their wedding celebration, and loved all the tweets they got in response to it even more. They both look so incredibly happy.
As threatened yesterday, some of the photos I was given, mainly me, my dad and brother.

That's me and my brother. There's two years between us. He looks cute as a button, I look rather demented.

When I think of dad this is how I like to remember him. This was in the garden of the house we had before he split with mam.

The traditional first day of school photo. You know what gets me about this one? I was about 13 then, and for a few years before had been made to go to the doctors and see the health visitor on a weekly basis to be weighed. And around this time I had to go to a weekly all day thing with other kids that included a visit with the psychologist and eventually, admitted to hospital for enforced very low-calorie diet. And yes, looking at this I was overweight, but not to the extent that amount of intervention was needed. Those health professionals did a hell of a lot more long-term damage than they'll ever know.

With dad and my bro on the big wheel. Which are terrible things!

Dad, Pauline and my brother, Chris. Dad was getting his long service fireman award.

Dad was a handsome chap.

Helping dad with some DIY. I'm sure I was doing something very important.

Baby!Terri with dad.

I was a butterball from birth, really.

Mam and dad's wedding.

Me and my bro, again. I always used to sneak into his bed to sleep.

Date: 2016-04-26 04:15 pm (UTC)Chris has just taken the old couches to the garage. He brought a work friend with him so all I had to do was watch. But now he's gone I'm procrastinating on hoovering up all the crap that was under them. And all the old cat treats.
They're so adorable together, and the picture they used was so cute.
Right. I'm off to tackle some mess. Maybe.

hoovering is easy to procrastinate at.

Date: 2016-04-30 11:22 am (UTC)The couch swap went very well. It helped my brother and his friend did all the work getting rid of the old ones.

Date: 2016-04-28 06:10 pm (UTC)So many fun pics! Yes, your dad was very handsome. And you and your brother were so cute! And your hair was just as lovely then as it is now.
And your parents' wedding photo made me giggle. There is nothing quite like a wedding photo for showing you the worst hairstyles and fashion choices from a particular era :-)

Date: 2016-04-29 07:13 am (UTC)Thank you! I did enjoy looking through the photos. And yeah, the wedding was very of its era. I think mam could have made multiple wedding dresses out of all the material she was wearing, and as for the hair.... *g*
