Sep. 15th, 2016 12:58 pmIt's BBB season, and I have a few works I've got tabbed to read asap.
But what I'm posting for is
turlough has finally been able to post her amazing knitted!kitty MCR. Seriously, they're fabulous. I've had the pleasure to art beta them along with
sperrywink and seeing the kitties come to life has been a very awesome thing, and the end result is ridiculously fab.
Even if you don't like the band go check out the work anyway just to check out the knitting and uniform making skills, you won't regret it.
Welcome to the Black ( cat ) Parade
As for me, life keeps chugging on. We went to see Ben Hur at the weekend, and just, yeah. The chariot race was amazing but the end.
Talk about an unrealistic happy ever after ending. The sister and mother being magically healed of leprosy by rain was bad enough, but then the two bros embracing and going off for their own happy ever after. I mean, I'm all about some bro love but come on! They'd spent the whole movie hating each other. One bro was so ridiculous and horrible and killed family members and caused others to be cast out or imprisoned and become lepers. Then lost his leg during the chariot race due to the other bro. Then they remembered racing together, embraced and all was right in the world. COME ON!
Bake Off moving to channel four is very sad-making, especially as Mel and Sue are leaving, too. I suspect Mary will go too and everything will be wrong and just not Bake Off.
I've been watching and really enjoying the Paralympics, and love that we're getting a daily episode of The Last Leg. That show remains all kind of awesome, and Johnnie Peacock in a tutu has to be one of my favourite things I've seen lately, made even better by Josh' crush

Date: 2016-09-15 04:25 pm (UTC)FWIW, I avoided Ben-Hur because of the whitewashing and also my severe lack of interest in the subject. Bases on what you've said, I did well on nit giving it any of my time.
I've seen a lot of sadness regarding the GBBO channel change and two of the hosts leaving. For some unknown reason, I never got into that show. I do know Sue from that series she did with the slightly assole-y dude where they ate and behaved as people from different historical eras?
Sadly, I have missed out on the Paralympics. Bit I've heard lots of great things about this year's games. :)

Date: 2016-09-15 04:36 pm (UTC)Yeah, it's not a film I'd recommend. The chariot race was the highlight, but that's not enough to save it. I have a high tolerance for ridiculous situations, but that ending was a big old nope.
Ha yes! I loved Supersizers, and yes, Giles is asshole-y. Which is a shame as he presents some interesting shows. The GBBO change just feels so wrong. I fear it's going to be changed a lot, when its appeal is a show that's known for being nice.
The games have been fantastic, and GB is in second place in the medal table which is so lovely to see. Due to time zones they're excellent going to bed watching.

Date: 2016-09-16 06:06 pm (UTC)I agree about the comic timing, too. He cracked me up when he asked if he was allowed to sit. Adam's face when he heard *g*

Date: 2016-09-16 07:29 pm (UTC)They remade Ben Hur??!! That's just WRONG!!!
(And now I can't decide if I should use a happy icon for the first sentence or a wtf! icon for the second. So evil of you to make such a mixed post :-)

Date: 2016-09-18 08:15 am (UTC)Yeah, it wasn't a successful remake at all. So why they did it I don't know.
Happy always!
