It was an excellent mail day yesterday when the post brought gifts from both [personal profile] turlough and [livejournal.com profile] zelda_see. I haven't opened them yet but they look great under the tree. Thank you so much, both of you ♥ Also, thank you to [personal profile] rikes for the very lovely card ♥

It was also the first day of the new bathroom being fitted yesterday and so far it's going well.

Also, seeing how professional the project manager has been already has reassured me that paying so much money for fitting will be well worth it. He kept in touch constantly, and has told me what's going to happen every day and before he and his helper started each new job. He even came down with the waste removal for the bath and showed me how it was the modern twist kind instead of a plug and chain, and asked if it would be suitable for James to use. As it turns out it doesn't matter as James can't pull a plug out anyway, and I'm always here when he's bathing, but that the guy thought of a potential difficulty and asked was great.

Part of the project involves plaster-boarding the old door that went from the bathroom directly into our bedroom. It's not used now, and never has been since we moved in and turned the room from a wet room to one that had a bath. We thought they'd only board up the bathroom side and just leave the door on the other, but it turns out they'll do both sides and get rid of the sliding door on the bedroom side, too. It means moving the bed again as the head of the bed is against the door, but it'll be worth the effort.

So, as of now the tiles are off the walls, the sink and old bath is gone, and the new bath installed, but not completely. Sadly that won't be usable until the end of the week. But, he did say all the work should be done by Thursday afternoon, which is a day earlier than expected. So that's a result.

Now I'm just waiting for them to turn up again. They said they'd do the tiling today and maybe fit the sink. Which reminds me, I must go and fill the kettle. They shut the water off yesterday and I ended up desperate for a cup of tea.

I'm so glad your gift arrived safely. I was a little worried since I've never sent such a big parcel before.

It's good to hear the bathroom refitting is going so well. And the manager sounds awesome! I hope today's work has gone well too. (And that you didn't have to suffer from tea withdrawal again :-)

OMG, so much yay for a professional project manager. Can't beat that, nor a project that finishes early! Usually they are 2 weeks behind. *g*

I hope it is starting to look fantastic!
