Thank you to Ephemera, romantical, stellamira, bettina, egelantier, augustuscaesar, fleurrochard, theladysnarkydame, madambeetroot, and nopseud for the very lovely cards. I enjoy receiving and looking at them so very much ♥

I hosted a pre-Christmas gathering for the adults of the family on Thursday. Up until the actual afternoon I wasn't sure if it would go well because mam said she wasn't sure if she wanted to come and nanna said if she wasn't feeling well she couldn't come, but everyone did. Corey was home, and will be until next week, my MiL, FiL, Pauline, nanna, Kayleigh and her friend all turned up and it was a really good time. My brother was invited but it was his works Christmas do the night before and he had a hangover from hell.

I over catered to a ridiculous extent, but people ate well, drank Lidl knock off Baileys, talked loads and it was just this really lovely afternoon. Photos were taken, but they didn't turn out well, on both my and James' phone, but still, you can still check them out behind

I do wish they'd turned out better, but better blurred than none I guess.

James is working today, so we did nearly all our present delivering yesterday, which turned into a bit of a wet and cold ordeal due to the storm hitting. But, they're all done now, all I have to do is go and see mam and deliver her presents later, meet up with my brother and sister while I'm up there, and then start prep for tomorrow when I get home.

I know Christmas changes when you don't have young kids, but I still love it so very much. I love the feel of Christmas eve, day and boxing day. There's just something in the air that's so comforting and happy-making.

One thing that's not happy-making, and I apologise here for the TMI. Since I've had my implant fitted, which will be over 5 years now, I haven't had a period, then unexpectedly got one two days ago. I had a nurses appointment anyway yesterday, so while I was there mentioned it and she said it could be due to having rapid weight loss, but try and get a telephone appointment with one of the doctors just to double check. It turned out the next phone appointment was the 9th of Jan, but I could get an actual appointment that afternoon, so our delivering round got changed to include another stop at the doctors. She said the same as the nurse, and to go back if it doesn't stop after 7 days. Which it better, I'm not used to this business now.

I'm also still waiting for a delivery which contains a big chunk of Corey's gifts from mam. They were dispatched last week, so should arrive, and if they don't I know he'll be fine about waiting. But still, fingers crossed.

Finally, if you wrote my bandom holidays story, know tomorrow will be a bit busy for me and I doubt I'll have time to read tomorrow. But I will on Boxing day, so please don't worry if you don't get an immediate comment from me.

ETA: Parcel has just arrived \o/

ETA2: Been to mam's, and asked for a photo with Chris and Kayleigh, which can be seen here.

Merry Christmas Eve!

It does look like you guys were having a good time, I just imagine the blurry pictures are because you guys are having too much fun and laughing too much to hold the phone steady. :-)

I'm glad everyone showed up and was able to have fun.

Enjoy your takeaway (been stalking you in Turlough's journal. *g*)

It's good to hear your pre-Christmas gathering went well and everyone enjoyed themselves. (And I completely agree with Kimberly, the photos are obviously blurred because the photographer was laughing too much to hold the camera steady!)

Oh, so that's why it's been so windy today and why it's been raining all evening! Why can't you keep your storms to yourselves?!!

I completely agree with you about Yule/Christmas! It's been my favourite holiday all my life. There is nothing like it!

Ugh, how irritating for you. And right at the holidays too. I hope it stops soon. *sends many good thoughts*

Hooray for parcel arrival!

You and Kayleigh look very much alike but it's harder to see with Chris. His features are a little "blurred" in comparison. And he's so much taller! Is that where the genes for Corey's height is coming from?

Happy Christmas!

That seems like a particularly rubbish side effect of your weight loss! Here's hoping that is all it is, and your body gets done with it sooner rather than later!

Your Christmas get together sounds lovely, and your sparkly living room looks full of lovely people.

hurray, and Happy Christmas!

Seems like you had a lovely Christmas season :)

But yes, suddenly having your period again is annoying... Hope it turns out to be a non-permanent side effect.

Go you for your successful hosting! And I hope there won't be any more lasting concerns with the period. :(
