Dec. 30th, 2016 09:31 pmI really like this photo that Gerard posted, it's so lovely to see them together again. It's just a shame Frank wasn't there too. Though very understandable he'd want to be with his family. I also love this one of Mikey and Ray. Ray is the most adorable. And Mikey hot as ever, though not as attractive as this one. His eyebrow game remains flawless and I do like the wide eyes.
I never said, I bought fannish niece a Gerard bobble head for Christmas and she posted it to her insta with captions about little baby Gee. So I guess I can say she really likes her present.
We went into town to exchange some pjs we bought for mam, and on the way to Primark I decided to have a look into Lush, and caught them just bringing out the very last items of Christmas stock, all of which was reduced to half price. Talk about a scrum, I grabbed the last big gift set and held onto it while James dove in and got three little gift sets. Talking to the sales lady I mentioned how surprised I was there was any stock at all as I'd checked at Metro centre the day before, but she explained Lush as a company send out all Christmas stock, and distribute it around their shops, and I was extremely lucky to have been passing when that last delivery was put on the shelves.
Yesterday I was sales shopping too. As I said I didn't get anything at Metrocentre Lush, but I did get trousers and two new dresses from Yours. I know, I know, I need a hand slap. All I can say in my defence was they're casual dresses and not the more dressy kind I've been buying previously. Plus, they were only £13 each. I couldn't resist it. Plus, I've dropped another dress size which is kind of awesome.
We also saw Passengers yesterday,
I'd been looking forward to what looked like a sci fi film based on two people having to survive together on a deserted space ship, and it was like that. Kind of.
But it was also horrendously creepy, had a horribly depressing ending and I have to say again, was creepy to the max. Yes, being alone apart from a bartender robot would be horrendous, but no way would that give anyone the excuse to wake someone else up from their pod and basically condemn them to a lifetime trapped on board ship with only one other person for company. And that the person they picked was because they found them attractive. No. Just no.
I wanted to like the film and the trailer was good, but it left me with a bad taste in my mouth and I have no desire to ever see it again.

Date: 2016-12-30 10:32 pm (UTC)(I was spoiled for Passengers, and I'm really glad I was. The trailers give no clue that that's the way the plot works, and that is Not OK in the slightest - annoying, because the film looked like fun until they took the plot in that direction.)

Date: 2016-12-31 10:35 am (UTC)Exactly! The trailer made no mention at all that one of the main characters was deliberately woken and condemned to live with one other person. That element really creeped me out, and him stalking her to try and explain his reasons after she found out didn't help at all.

Date: 2016-12-30 10:50 pm (UTC)I hadn't seen the other Mikeyway and Ray pic (so lovely!) It truly warmed my heart that they're still hanging out (and that GWay wished Frank had been there.) &Bandfamily always;
ZOMG, T., you're a total Lush fiend!!! OTOH, a good sale is a good sale, right? ;)
Passengers is one of those movies with a script that was fairly popular in Hollywood circles. I thought the trailer was a tad bland and excessively white, imo.
Once I learned the REAL premise, though, I decided to avoid seeing it lest I ended up in a rage. The last thing I want to deal with is that kind of bullshittery. >:(

Date: 2016-12-31 10:39 am (UTC)Ray looks so good. I mean, obviously Mikey is as hot as ever, but seeing Ray made me so happy. I wish Frank could have been there, too. But only in the way I'd love to see the whole band together, mostly I'm glad he was spending time with his family and loved ones.
I couldn't resist the sale. And now have enough products to keep me going for months. Which I do mean this time!
I quite liked the trailer because I'm a sucker for sci fi and the premise looked interesting. But obviously the trailer glossed over the horrific creepy stalking elements. Plus, that the one non-white character who also woke died within a few minutes didn't sit right either.
You made a good decision not going to see it.

Date: 2016-12-31 11:42 am (UTC)Hee, you might have to avoid going to Lush for at least two weeks (lest you accidentally end up buying more stuff!)
After several disappointments, I have learned that anyone can make a good/interesting trailer. I mean, look at, idk, Suicide Squad for example.
In the case of Passengers, what boggles the mind is that there are so many ways that the plot could have sidestepped the creepazoid factor and still touch upon themes of human connection, space travel, etc. #TrustmeImgladIskippedittoo

Date: 2016-12-31 10:24 am (UTC)And cute pictures of MCR guys, except Gerard's hair. I am not a fan of the longer bob kind of thing. Ray's hair, as always, is a thing of beauty though. But, yes, them hanging out still is so cool.
Buy your dresses and enjoy!! *g*
OMG, I'm glad seeing Passengers wasn't on my list.

Date: 2016-12-31 10:32 am (UTC)I like Gerard's letting his grey show. But yeah, Ray looks so good. He looks content and happy, and as always has hair of amazingness.
I did! It's the sales, they pull me in every time.
It was such a creepy film, made worse by the fact it could have been good. They would have had the same impact having a few people waking up together, they still would have been faced with a lifetime alone as a small group and on a ship that was racing toward a critical fault, but without the horrible creepy element of deliberately waking someone just because you thought she was hot.

Date: 2016-12-31 07:52 pm (UTC)Congratulations to snagging some more Lush goodies for a good price!
Ugh, that sounds like an absolutely awful film! Why do the companies insist on making such misleading trailers?!!

Date: 2016-12-31 08:57 pm (UTC)I'm now well Lush'ed up. And should be for some time.
I really did like the trailer, but knowing what I do now I never would have gone to see the film. It crossed a line for me, big time.

Date: 2017-01-01 09:50 pm (UTC)EXCELLENT Lush hauling. You win Lush I think :F :F.
You're totally allowed £13 dresses - I bet you'll get a good amount of wear from them (as we've previously discussed). Can you do leggings for under them? Bon marche do some reasonable sizes, cheaply and in good thick stuff, if not so stretchy (tbh they end up more like narrow leg trousers).
Thank you for seeing and reviewing Passengers, I'd heard some things and I'm very happy to now completely body swerve it.
