Dec. 31st, 2016 05:19 pmI'm spending this new years eve alone as James is at work and Corey's off hosting his house party. Not that it's an issue, NYE is very much a non event for me, and has been for a long time. I'll stay up until 12 so I can watch the fireworks from my bedroom window, but that'll be it for me. Until then I intend to have a very long soak while reading Musketeers fic, then get out, read more fic and watch some tv cuddled up on the couch under a blanket with the cats keeping me company.
ETA: James just emailed me to say look at the NE ambulance FB page as he was famous. He's in a post about staff working tonight, in all his Rudolf shirt glory. The man gets everywhere *g*
This last year has been a bad one for so many people, but for me it's been okay to good. I got married to James, but considering how long we've been together and living as married, nothing actually changed between us. Really, what was the most significant change for me was finally having the bypass, because that's changed my life hugely.
Thinking back to this time last year it's hard to take in just how much has changed in terms of my health. The Terri of last NYE would have never believed she'd be swimming, or develop a new dress habit, or think nothing about strolling around the Metrocentre without needing to sit every few minutes.
I've still got a huge amount to lose, nearly the same again -- but now I have the confidence that can happen, and who knows what the future Terri will look like and be doing a year from now. I'd like to think good things. But whatever happens, I'm looking forward to getting to know her.
Before I head off for my bath and Musketeer fix I want to thank each and every one of you reading. I know this place isn't as busy as it once was, but you've all been there with encouraging comments, to share your lives and your fan works, and that means loads. LJ and DW are such important places for me, but it's not the platforms that make that so, it's the people using them. Be that the people who comment every time that I post, or the ones who only drop a comment every now and then. You're all fabulous and I wish you all the best for the coming year.
♥ always.

Date: 2016-12-31 09:28 pm (UTC)What you've done this year is just amazing! It makes me so happy and proud to be your friend. ALL the good luck with everything in 2017 too!
I hope you enjoyed your bath and are now settled in for a nice evening online waiting for the fireworks. It's what I'm doing too. Also keeping my fingers crossed there won't be any fireworks close to us. Lancecat hates the bangs so much.

Date: 2017-01-01 10:03 pm (UTC)You've had such a great year this year, it's been lovely to watch and I can't wait to see where you are in another year (I feel like the dress addiction is likely here to stay :D)

Date: 2017-01-02 10:34 pm (UTC)It's a little trippy from all the way over here that all that's been in one year! One of my regrets is that we've not managed to cross-paths in person last year - near misses in Durham and in Wales!
*mwah* - you're awesome, my lady!
