Snowflake challenge day 1
Jan. 1st, 2017 12:44 pmI'm taking the decorations down at the moment. I'm at the stage where everything is away, but the floor is covered in glitter, fake pine needles from the tree, and dust has been revealed everywhere. So I'm taking a quick break before tackling that, because the Snowflake Challenge is back!
If you haven't taken part before do think about it. The challenge is so low key but it's lovely to start the new year.

Onto the first day!
Day 1
In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.
This is the perfect time to reveal what I wrote for bandom holidays, too. Which was --
(1) Contagious Creativity. In which Gerard learns about Pinterest and decides to hold a craft exchange. I really enjoyed writing this, and am thrilled that
wenchpixie enjoyed it because I think she's fab and wanted to write her a good gift.
The story includes so much that I love. Group interaction, a bit of humour, Way bros conversations. I got a comment saying it felt like old time bandom, and it very much was, and felt that way as I was writing. In fact, until I realised timings would be out in terms of Pinterest becoming popular it was going to be set much further back, including Bob. But even though it wasn't, I did like the result.
Sperrywink said it screams me as the writer, but apparently no one else knew. Obviously I'm now a woman of mystery writing wise! *g*
(2) The Holes in My Apologies, You Know. This was the first Musketeer story I wrote, and I really liked doing so. It was from a kink meme prompt, is unbeta read, but after a really long dry spell of not writing at all it was just fabulous to get those words flowing. I especially like the first chapter, which no doubt could be tightened under a beta's eye, but hits me just right in terms of what I like.
(3) Sing the Revolution. I wrote this many years ago for the Ways plus one challenge, and still like it now. It's a story about cross-dressing, how growing up is hard sometimes, about Frank and Mikey being gone on each other with the added complication of Gerard being involved too. It's not one of my stand out stories, but it's up there as one I was proud to write.
I also want to thank
jiksa_x for writing my bandom holidays gift story Soon the Bells Will Start. I rec it highly.
In fact I rec all the works highly. I was going to do actual recs before reveal, but obviously missed that chance. However, I did read everything at the challenge and was highly impressed.

Date: 2017-01-01 01:14 pm (UTC)Ha! I told you, you should have guessed your story as someone else, and really fooled people. *g*
Nice choices, I approve. :-)

Date: 2017-01-01 01:25 pm (UTC)I've obviously lost my fic guessing skills. Next time I'll totally finger someone else for my story. Also comment to myself for that extra crafty touch.
Thank you! It was nice thinking about them. Though considering I only have four stories to pick from this year choosing the new ones didn't take long.
