Thank you to everyone who commented and reached out after my last post. You're all very kind, and it was lovely to see some names I haven't seen post for a very long time. Seeing all the comments meant a lot and helped in what was a horrible day. And thank you to madam_beetroot for your card and lovely message that arrived this morning. I don't mind lurkers at all, but know I'm always here to talk to if you feel the need.

I've been to nanna's today to start help clear her house. I got to take a variety of things that meant a lot to me, nothing expensive or even useful in cases, but things that hold deep memories and I'll always treasure. I'm not going to lie, it was hard being there without her, but it has to be done. It's the first time I've helped break down a house, when dad died Pauline was obviously left behind, so it didn't have to be done. And 97 years of life leads to a lot of things to sort through.

Tomorrow it's my one year post op hospital appointment. So expect one final naval gazing post when I'm home from that.

Finally, mini_wrimo is taking sign ups atm on both DW and LJ. I love that challenge a lot and I'll be signing up soon. It's very low key and you can set your daily word target as low or high as you like. As I have very little brain right now, I'm setting my bar low and going for 100 words a day. Who knows, I may even get a ficlet out of it somehow.

Yeah, when I decided what I wanted from my grandmother's home it was the memories they held that was the important thing. I will always remember drinking tea with her in the evenings when I use the black teapot.

I went up there with a couple of things in mind, including a set of tiny elephants that have always stood on her fire place and a baby picture of me. But came back with a few more, including a teapot. So I know exactly where you're coming from with that.

Ahaha, I do. Though as I'm going to the beach afterwards I should really tell you all about the ships and pretend I meant that all the time.

I do enjoy that comm, hopefully it'll lead to something.

Such a hard thing cleaning out a house of a loved one. I still have a lot of my Grandma's furniture and things because I was building a household when she passed.

I signed up for both mini_wrimo and NaNo. I doubt I'll get anywhere close to 50k, but I'd like to write more than I have been.

It's so hard. Nanna had a lot of stuff, and some good stuff like white goods, tv etc. But the thing is, everyone has their own houses and didn't need them. So a man who's just moving in over the road and has nothing is getting them. That worked out nicely.

Thank you. It is daunting, but by chance a man has moved into a bungalow over the road, and had literally nothing. So he's taking a lot of the furniture and white goods.

It's great that you found someone to take some of the stuff. It's nice to know they're getting used, but it's still never an easy job.
