Dec. 14th, 2017 06:26 pmI'm going with Kayleigh to help take her cat to the vets in an hour, so just time for a quick post before getting ready.
Monday we decided to take a day at Metrocenter and get most of the Christmas gift shopping done, and apart from a few vouchers we're now done. We got there around 10 in the morning, and left at 10 at night, so it was a long day. Not all shopping however, it was Screen Unseen day at Odeon, where you can get cheap tickets for £5 each but don't actually know what you're going to see until the film starts. They do give clues on FB, but often people are wildly out. Like, many suggested it would be the new Star Wars, but no way was that going to happen. With having the Unlimited card we don't actually pay for tickets individually so we didn't go for the cheap seats, more for the experience and surprise. It's something that's been running for a while, but we've never been to a showing before as they tend to be around 8 in the evening, and we're usually tucked up at home by then. Anyway, it turned out to be Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri. I have to admit, I'd never even heard of the film before it started, and while I enjoyed it okay, I doubt we would have picked to go see it on our own, so I guess in that case Screen Unseen works. As for the film itself, it was okay, I can see it getting awards, but many people in the theatre seemed to find it much funnier than I did.
Tuesday Pauline had arranged for me to have a facial as part of my Christmas present. It was nice, though it was the face massage I liked the most. The lady doing it came to Pauline's house, so it was just a chilled evening having a bit of a pamper.
Yesterday was the main Christmas food shopping day and then playing freezer tetris when everything was delivered. A few bruised knuckles and only a half eaten tub of ice cream that no one really liked anyway having to be binned for space later, and it was all done. So, the majority of the food shop is done now, too. So all we've left to do is wrapping, and some buying of odds and ends, then the last of the cards to be sent and prep wise I'm calling it done.
I suppose I should start to get ready. After the vets I finally have my dentist appointment, then have a load of cards to deliver to the neighbours on the estate, and then tonight it's finishing MTYG and uploading my bandom holidays story to A03.
ETA: I never got this posted this morning so I've been to the vets, been to the dentist, delivered the cards and uploaded my story. So all I've got left to do is the writing. I was a bit worried about the dentist due to potential cost, as even a check-up is usually just under £30. He checked my cap and said it felt fine and suspected the tenderness was due to excess cement used to put it into place rubbing at my gum and causing irritation. So he gave that area a good poke, told me to floss always, and sent me on my way with a wink and saying that as he didn't actually do anything treatment wise he wouldn't charge anything. So, result.

I did most of my food shopping today but my freezer is still almost empty. It's the fridge that's full. But after I've spent most of next week cooking and baking it will be the other way around for me too :-)
Now that's how dentist visits always should go!

It's good when your fridge and freezer is full. I'll be looking to see pictures of all your cooking in your weekly round-up.
I agree! No pain and no paying.

Date: 2017-12-17 05:27 pm (UTC)The cheap part was the best. I mean, £30 isn't wildly expensive but more than I wanted to pull out.
