In your own space, share a favorite memory about fandom: the first time you got into fandom, the last time a fanwork touched your heart, crazy times with fellow fans (whether on-line or off-line), a lovely comment you’ve received or have left for someone. I wasn't sure what to answer for this at first. I've been in fandom a long time, and have so many memories I could share. Then I caught sight of a recent icon I used and knew what I could talk about, and it's a fantastic BBB experience I had, mainly because of my artist, who was amazing.

Every Word Not Spoken to You wasn't that popular, but I'll always have great memories due to squashbee artwork. As a collabaration between artist and writer it was a dream. Squashbee kept in constant touch, sent me concept drawings, final drawings, kept adding new scenes after reading more of the story and becoming inspired, and best of all, send me the actual physical sketches themseleves after bbb went live. Sketches I still have now.

Sadly she isn't around fannishly now, but I hope she knows how happy she made me, and man, that was back in 2011. What is time?

Due to photobucket being stupid I've just noticed that none of the artwork is visible now, so I'm going to share some of it behind the cut.











In other news I got my picfor1000 assignment. As soon as I saw it my mind went, three musketeers! But of course picfor1000 is always my personal waybros challenge, so as I'm not changing that it'll have to be either two stories or no musketeers.

The back and forth for that big bang will always stick in my mind. She was so enthusiastic about what I was writing, and I was thrilled with every sketch she shared.

I had to share when I realised photobucket had broken the links. Now I need to change them at A03.

I had a deja vu moment because my fandom memory is very similar. Communication really is key for a collaboration like this. Your artist sounds amazing. It's lovely that she sent you the sketches.

Getting the actual physical sketches was such a bonus and something I never expected. It was the perfect end to that big bang.

The fandom is bandom, and I remain impressed with Squashbee's talent, and how she got the emotion across even if the fandom was unknown.

They did. I got Christmas cards for a while after, then nothing. It's always sad when that happens.

I love the drawings. I also have two concept drawings of Mikey and Ryan, but photobucket wouldn't let me display them. Stupid site that it is now.

As for the musketeers - maybe there‘s another Way bother, making them three. Just saying... ;-)

Creating together with others is such a lovely experience when all of you are equally excited about the project... Funnily enough, my earliest memory of this goes back to school times, when I would come up with ideas for my friends to draw things (I am abysmal at it, but wouldn't you know, at least one of my close friends was always a stellar artist ;) ).

Oh, it is an awesome thing when your creation inspires someone else - and to get a series of illustrations like that, how wonderful!

The matchup between me and my artist was amazing. The actual illustrations were a very unexpected, and welcome, bonus.
