Nov. 26th, 2003 09:07 amHad such a bad night last night which ended with me nearly breaking my toes.
The tv man came and as soon as he saw the set said it was the tubes that had gone and it would cost far more than a new tv to fix. So we decided to bring the tv we had in our bedroom down, at least I say we, I had to manhandle the damn thing down. Though it wasn't that bad as I just used the stairlift to take some of the weight. Got that tv into the living room fine, then started to take the broken one off the unit. The broken one is *big* and heavy and I felt every pound of that weight when I lost my grip and the damn thing landed on my foot. The same foot may I add that I stabbed with a pencil and aches all the time anyway. The air was blue, and I may have cried because it hurt a lot. I really thought I'd broken my toes last night, but they're moving this morning, just looking a bit black and puffy. I'd kick the damn tv but I'd probably hurt my other foot.
And that's my stupidity told for the day. Now I'm going to see what you all are doing.

Date: 2003-11-26 10:13 am (UTC)What do you mean black and puffy? Bruised, obviously, but is it just bruising caused by the impact, or tissue damage caused by broken bones? The fact you can wiggle them is a good sign; see if you can move each one individually, and how that feels. If the tips aren't bruised, try wiggling each toe up and down, like walking would do (gently, duh!) Yes, it'll probably hurt, question is does it hurt like bruising, a serious stubbing, or is it a sharp ache inside the toe? The latter is fairly indicitive of a break. Try to keep off it, or weight off the toes, at least, and propping it up, keeping it bare is always good. You'll get cold, but a good hot soak in tiny tub of epsom salts is always good, too.
Take Care, Luv! *worries for you & your poor foot*
Oh! And I -=LOVE=- your new MX icon! Too bad no Emma/Adam...

You're my own personal angel, and a beautiful one too.
