I was watching Gerard's Haunted House video and YouTube auto played Desolation Row after. I know there's a lot of choices for optimum hotness period, but damn, they all looked amazing then. But man, released in 2009, what is time? Then I watched I Write Sins, and it was from 2006. Baby!Panic. You were the most adorable. I heard Panic's version of The Greatest Show earlier, which was okay. I love the song and like Brendon's voice, but prefer the original.

I'm sure anyone interested will have seen already, but bandom_holidays are asking about interest here.

Between the videos and pensnest's post about MTYG it feels like I've been thrown back into my fannish past. I need to go watch some Voyager followed by The Sentinel and I'll have gone the whole hog.

More past things. It was cold enough to wear my Wasps jacket yesterday. Some will remember the story. I bought that jacket many many years ago, before I had Corey even. I got the biggest size they had, and it went nowhere near me. So I shoved it into the back of the wardrobe and tried to forget about it. Meanwhile, time passed, the Wasps moved from Durham I will forever smite you for that John Hall, eventually disbanded and I haven't had a team for over 20 years. All the time my jacket remained hidden away. But now it fits. So I wore it, complete with puck in the pocket, went into a shop in town, and the first thing the assistant said was, I haven't seen one of those jackets in forever. Turns out she went to the games, too. So we had a bit of a walk down memory lane before I headed back into the cold.

I need to go write some words already. Maybe another video first.

I just found out that Pete is 39 years old and I did an actual!ARE YOU SURE? at the computer screen. What is time indeed???

Though, yeah, I was scrolling thru Tumblr the other day and saw an MCR photo set circa 2005 and my immediate thought was "such babbys" About the one thing I'm not into as much as used to is High School AUs. Like, I can read YAs and whatnot, but it's on a case-by-case basis.

In my head the bandom people never age so it's always a jolt when I'm reminded that's not the case.

I suppose that's one of the big differences between rpf and media fandoms, for the second the characters will forever stay the same age.

Does the High School AU thing apply to MCU fandom too? I'm assuming yes due to the case-to-case basic comment.

That's one trope I haven't read yet in MCU, though it's sure to be out there.

Yeah, it's even weirder when you ship certain ppl and then, they break up. Frex, Pete/Ashley Simpson or Mikeyway/Alicia in Bandom. Tho, some ppl's ability to deny time passing manifests in some dressing up like Frank circa the Three Cheers era at his solo gigs.

Your assumption is correct. Half of it is that I get creeped out abt, say, teacher/student fics nowadays. The other half is that Bandom spoiled me for good HS fic.

In short, I haven't bothered to deep dive into HS fics in MCU past the few Stucky ones I DNF'd before the halfway mark. #Itiswhatitis

reading this, I had to immediately go and watch Desolation Row - it's no hardship, as it's a fabulous video. and you're right, they're definitely at peak hotness in in - but what is time indeed; I cannot believe it's been almost ten years!!!

I agree, time is weird. I'm going to be 49, so Pete is about ten years younger than me. I think of us being about the same age now.

He really did. I still find him attractive now, but he was hot as fire back then.

Awww, I'm glad you're getting chances to use your Wasps jacket! Since you've had it for so long it's probably from the good old days when clothes were made of quality fabrics so it should last you for a good while still.

I'm not actually sure how it got in there. I did used to keep the pucks that came into the crowd, but I'd never worn the jacket. Maybe I shoved it in there for ease of carrying.

I feel you on being nostalgia, I miss bandom days so much. The fic, the community, it was just so awesome. I was reminded of it today when looking through kink bingo and I’m so sad it seems to have gone. I did follow a few people as a result and I’m still trying to find more peeps here (hope you don’t mind!)

Gerard seemed to have had fun putting out songs and videos lately.

It feels so weird Pete is 39. He always seems much younger somehow. I think bandom people wise I'll always be stuck in the past.
