The Snowflake is running again next month. I always enjoy that challenge, and they're looking for volunteers right now, so if you're interested, check out the post.

The weather is supposed to get a bit dicey today with ice rain. All the forecasts are doom and gloom with weather warnings everywhere. We've already been out to do a bit shopping this morning and it was bitter then. But James has to go to work soon and finishes at midnight. While there's no snow or rain yet I've told him to be extra careful coming back, ice is scary stuff.

This guy is new. He was part of a box of stag decorations that had been reduced because this one had lost an antler. James instantly said we needed amputee!antler!stag.









The writing of my bandom holidays story is going well. Once I got started I remembered that I did actually know how to write, I'd just got out of the habit of doing so. So that's my plan tonight, more writing, some reading, a long bath and watching the Strictly final.

Finally, I did like Mikey and Kristin's announcement that they were having another daughter. It's such a cute photo.

I really don't like ice, especially the black kind. Often the weather forecasts overstate things, but from what's coming down now the warnings are needed.

It's been coming down in lumps here all day - hailing, mostly, and sleet, and a LOT of it. Uhg. I've got my heated throw out and I've mostly been hiding under it like a chilly sloth today, not nice.

I'm so pleased for Mikey and Kristen, they seem to be fairly adorable together and it looks like everyone's in a good life phase right now, which is great.

I like to go old school tinsel sparkle. The only thing I resist doing now is the streamers on the ceiling, but they are tempting.

It's not nice at all. You've done the perfect thing hiding out and staying warm. I must say, a heated throw sounds like a wonderful thing.

Yes, I agree. They seem so happy, they all do. I still miss them as a band -especially Ray who remains elusive often -- but I can't begrudge them moving on and doing things that make them happy.

I've got quite a cold house (not least because my windows at the front are slipping in their frames and there's a literal gap in one of them, but at 6 grand a pop to replace, because of their size and the kind of building it is, replacing them is going to take a while) and it's been a lifesaver.

The Snowflake challenge is great. Aka and her group started an amazing thing. It's also a good excuse to post in what was a dead part of the year. Though with all the new people around that isn't such an issue atm.

It's been a horrible day weather-wise, you expect the cold in winter, but I hate the wet ice like conditions.

We have many Groot's in the house. Only that one is tinsel decked though.

I'm so impressed you've got your bandom holidays story done. And way to go getting your materlist done. That's fantastic!

It's a good final, but lasts forever. I still think Joe will win it, but they're all good.

I know I've already said but I'm glad you joined the snowflake challenge. I remain amazed that something based on Yo Gabba Gabba and the snowflake song has become so big.

I'm sure they will like it. That's the thing about exchanges, just the thought that someone is out there writing something for you is fantastic.

I was so surprised Joe didn't win. I was positive all his fans would vote for him. But I guess it was Kevin's year. I'd say Stacy but Kevin seems to be getting the attention.

NOW I know it's really Christmas! :-D You have the most enthusiastically Christmassy house ever! And your deer heard is a marvel!! I can't even imagine how long time it would take to decorate everywhere like that. Just decorating your tree must take hours and hours!

I have to admit, it does take a while to put all the decorations up, and they're creeping into the kitchen and hall, too. I love my deer herd so much but have to tell myself not to buy multiple sparkle deers every year, otherwise, I'd be running out of space very quickly.

My bath was long and luxurious, and the writing is going nicely. Thankfully I've got plenty of time to get it done, but I don't want to be too long as that's not fair on L who needs time to beta.

The tree is old and has a wonky branch, but has so much on it you can't really tell. But it's covered in history, really. Lanterns Corey made in nursery, remembrance baubles for passed loved ones and things that have been sent by friends. I love it a lot.
