When I woke this morning I first had to clean up after one of the cats and then went into the kitchen and saw 'something' all over the table. At first, I thought one of the cats had had a mega vomit session but on looking closer it was clear and sticky. Turns out the watermelon I'd had on there had started to turn on the inside and horrible sticky stuff had seeped out of it all over the table and fruit basket. What a waste of a good melon.
Yesterday we went to see the new Fast and Furious movie. It was ridiculous and stupid in an entertaining way with barely five minutes of plot in a long movie, so really, exactly what I expected going in.
In an attempt to make a dent in the mounting courgette pile, yesterday I made courgette and sweetcorn fritters and they were delicious. Plus, I had the bonus of having all the needed ingredients at hand so I could easily make them again if wanted. Though, after researching a bit, next time I'm going to bake them as I prefer not to shallow fry stuff if possible.
Today I've made another crustless quiche, spinach, tomato, cheese and onion this time. Sadly not with my homegrown tomatoes as despite having loads they're still green atm, but they should start to turn soon. Sadly the quiche broke up so I think my egg to veg ratio was off. Still, it tasted good which in the end is the important thing.
I've been reading winterhawk with a side of Leverage lately. The winterhawk stories are ones I'm following but for Leverage, I'm tag surfing the OT3 Eliot/Hardison/Parker tag. I'm in the middle of an interesting long fic which is a crossover with The Laundry Files, which I've never heard of, but the writer has caught my attention with the story and I keep going back to it every night.
dine has just set me off watching Nsync's The Lion Sleeps Tonight. As I said in comments, I will forever love Chris' voice in that, and despite being such low budget and quality, I really like the video too. I suspect if I wasn't busy cooking tea right now I would have been set off on a youtube spiral. As I am cooking tea, sorry nostalgia, back in your box you go.

Date: 2019-08-06 12:16 pm (UTC)Amazingly as it's not a franchise I'm into that much, I've seen them all. And they're all ridiculous.
The fritters were so good. I'm going make them again for sure.

Now I'm listening to The Lion Sleeps Tonight myself, and indeed, Chris's voice really shines in this one. *happy sigh*

Date: 2019-08-06 12:11 pm (UTC)I'm so pleased with the fritters. They were really easy to make and I'm hoping baking will give the same crispy outside.
Such a great song.

It's terrible how everyday chores can stop you from enjoying fandom to the full ;-D

Date: 2019-08-11 03:21 pm (UTC)It's the first time it's ever happened to me and I buy a lot of melon, including galia and cantaloupe, too. I assume there must have been some kind of tiny break in the skin because it was only a day old, so no way should have gone off, especially uncut.

It is!
