We were supposed to be getting our new smart meters for the gas and electric put in today. The electric meter is behind the tumbler so I had to take shelf off above that and remove everything on it -- which was a lot as it's such handy storage, and pull out the tumbler itself. The meter man arrived, came in, went outside to look at the electric meter and it turns out we can't have a smart meter as they need wood or plastic meter cupboard doors and ours is metal. So we need to get that replaced before things can be changed. Silver lining I guess, I've been decluttering lately and managed to sort everything out from on top of the tumbler, so that's good.

Other good things. My opposite neighbours have a new pug puppy and have called it Pugsy Malone, which I think it's a brilliant name for a pug.

It was my fannish niece's birthday two days ago. She turned 17 so I'd say I can't call her baby fannish niece any more, but Corey is 23 and I still call him the kidlet, so I guess she'll be keeping her name.

I had a great mail day, thank you frausorge for the fantastic postcard and teigh_corvus for the gorgeous star, I posted it on my insta so if you want to look at T's work it's here. Thank you for the card and message too. I know it's a total coincidence timing-wise but it was the perfect thing to read yesterday ♥

Tonight it's the last of the theatre shows we booked a while back, so in a few hours, we're off to see The Book of Mormon. It's supposed to be very funny, though very offensive and I'm looking forward to seeing it.

It was annoying, but, at least I got more organising done.

It's a fabulous name. I do wonder if they're going to call him Pugsy or Malone, though. But I bet he gets the full version when he does some inevitable puppy mischief *g*

I did enjoy it, mostly. A lot of it was funny and I'm a sucker for a dance and singing number. But some of it got a bit close to the line for me and felt uncomfortable to watch.

I remember liking the Book of Mormon (saw it years ago). Though, yeah, there was a couple at the show I went to that were NOT laughing at the most of the dialogue.

The door situation is stupid. They say they need a plastic door so the smart metre readings can be beamed out, but the people we've been talking to today say it needs to be metal as it's an outdoor door. So who knows what's happening.

I'll keep an eye out for Pugsy Malone in the garden. They brought him out to see us the other day so I'm sure will show him off. As they should, he's adorable.

The theatre was packed last night and has a great atmosphere, with everyone I could see laughing, especially when they added a Bexit joke. You really do need to go in with an open mind, though and be aware you'll hear offensive things. I enjoyed it all, apart from one running joke I couldn't bring myself to laugh at.

We're no further forward yet being as we need to actually find and pay for the door. But, the decluttering was a big bonus.

Pugsy Malone! I know nothing else about this dog, yet I already know I'd die for him.

My mom refers to anyone more than six months younger than herself as a "kid" or, if they're a man, a "young fella". It's a mindset, that's for sure. :)

Exactly! Not only did they waste my time, but the man who drove here to fit the meters also had his time wasted, too. You'd think it would be a question that got asked first, but nope.

Well, they told us it was because the radio beams that send off the info won't go through metal, which sounds like a load of rubbish to me. Especially so as the box itself is wood inside, so surely those radio waves could go backwards and out of the house if metal was an issue? Honestly, I don't think they knew what they were talking about.
