I posted my no tags story yesterday. The challenge is still anon at the moment so I can't link. But, if you're interested in bandom you should go check out all of the stories. I haven't read any yet -- that's my plan for this afternoon -- but just with a quick scan, there's some interesting stuff. You can see them here.
The cold seems to have arrived abruptly, I had to break the ice on the birdbath for the first time yesterday morning and there was the first ground frost of the year. At least it's been sunny this morning, though it's gone overcast now. I've been out in the garden tidying up a bit, especially around the raised bed in front of the window. I suspect the gutters are blocked as water has been cascading into the bed and splashing soil everywhere, the window was filthy this morning with sprayed dirt. I'll have to arrange for a handyman with a big ladder to come and clean them before winter sets in completely, so that's another job for next week.
James has a stomach bug atm so is off work again. Not ideal in the slightest with him just going back recently, but there wasn't a chance he could go in. He's been sleeping on the couch most of today, so hopefully will be feeling better by tomorrow.
As for me, I'm going to make a big mug of tea and get reading. Corey is a bit of a tea fan so when I was shopping with him he recommended a smoky china tea but I'm not sure if I like it or not. It's very smoky and I'm really not sure about the after-taste. I'm going to try it again but I suspect the box may end up going to Newcastle. Which is fine, it's not like I haven't a cupboard full of other teas to drink.

Date: 2019-11-10 06:12 pm (UTC)The cold seems to have zoomed in, not that I should be surprised being as it's November.
Hope you're having a great time.

Date: 2019-11-10 08:15 pm (UTC)There seems to be some kind of nasty stomach bug doing the rounds at the moment - I know another couple of people who've been off and miserable with it (in disparate parts of the UK) I hope James is better soon <3.

Date: 2019-11-10 10:43 pm (UTC)It's a shame so many are still missing, mainly for the mods who have to chase things up. But you're right, it means more fic to come which is great.
He seems much better now, at least he's woken up a bit and not sleeping on the couch.

Date: 2019-11-11 03:24 am (UTC)The gutter issue sounds very tiresome. I hope it can be fixed as expeditiously as possible.
And poor James. I hope he recovers quickly and thoroughly.

Date: 2019-11-11 08:26 am (UTC)I suspect the gutter issues could be easily fixed if I had really long ladders, and wasn't afraid to go up them. I have no issue with heights but really don't like the idea of scooping moss and leaves out from the roof. So, paying someone else to do it it is.
He was feeling better yesterday, so hopefully when he wakes up will feel even more so. Though, has to be 2 days symptom-free before he can go back to work so that's at least Wed.

Date: 2019-11-11 06:53 pm (UTC)It was overcast most of Friday and Saturday over here. Now it's back to annoyingly sunny. :-/
Hope James feels better soon.
My tea tastes are tremendously boring. I tend to use Lipton bags. Enough said. XD

Date: 2019-11-17 05:52 pm (UTC)Oh no, I thought the sun would have gone for you by now. Well, not completely. But you know, not enough to drive you crazy.
Lipton bags are good stuff, too. I enjoy trying new stuff, but the smoke has defeated me. It really isn't for me.

Date: 2019-11-12 06:21 pm (UTC)Poor James! Stomach ailments are the worst! I hope he's feeling much better by now.
I know what you mean about the aftertaste of Lapsang. And I can only enjoy the very smoky taste in very small doses.

Date: 2019-11-16 12:53 pm (UTC)He's feeling much better, though is asleep on the couch right now as he was on a 2am finish last night but we needed to get up for the gutter man.
And I can only enjoy the very smoky taste in very small doses.
Yeah, no way will it become a favourite and I doubt I'll buy it again.
