Nov. 17th, 2019 09:58 amI really enjoyed Strictly last night, but suspect either Michelle or Chris is going. I have to admit, I'm enjoying Chris more and more each week, both his very enthusiastic amateur dancing and as a person. Plus, his accent is so comforting to me and reminds me of home each time I hear him speak. He posted a pic on Insta of him and his wife at the Costco we go to, and now I keep imagining bumping into him there one day.
Apparently the last no tags story will be uploaded today meaning the collection will be complete, and what a great collection it is. It'll be interesting to see if anyone else guesses mine. I say anyone else as Turlough has already guessed mine correctly via email and had only skimmed the stories at the time. But, I'm putting that down to having known me and my writing for a million years.
It's been raining hard all night but there's no splashed water on the window, so I'm saying the gutter cleaning has worked, so, it was well worth the cost.
I'm really looking forward to seeing Last Christmas at the cinema. It's everything I love in a Christmas film and is going to be cheesy as hell, so bring it on! James has his last 2am finish tonight then is off for three days, so I've been contemplating going tomorrow. But, he's also got his next counselling session at 5 then we're at the theatre straight after. So suspect Tuesday will be more realistic. But, Tuesday I'm there, cheesy Christmas film, Christmas coffee from Costa, happiness.
Like many people I've been waiting to see the new John Lewis Christmas advert, and I like it, Edgar the pyromaniac dragon is fun. I also like Asda's for how magical it is, the one for Sainsburys, though it take a while to get going and the McDonalds one is lovely. But, my favourite so far just for being a bit different is for Ikea. This is very very, very very, very very very very unacceptable
Talking of. I'll be putting up my Christmas card poll later today. I know a lot of people don't send them now but I still love Christmas cards and enjoy sending them.

Nice!
It looks good from what I’ve seen, let me know how it is🖤
Aww yay Christmas cards!
I thought of you today, we went to a cat cafe! We stumbled on it yesterday 🖤

Date: 2019-11-17 04:27 pm (UTC)I've got one left to read which I'll do very soon. I have got ideas about who wrote some, and no doubt will be totally wrong. Hopefully, a guessing post will go up eventually.
I will do. I've been looking forward to it loads, but really, I'm very easy to please in terms of Christmas films.
I've just been looking at your photos. It looks like a fantastic place.

Date: 2019-11-17 02:03 pm (UTC)Hurrah for the successful gutter clean - that must be a relief, particularly before it gets too cold.
I'm really worried for Michelle - that was such a fierce, fabulous performance and it obviously meant so much to her, but I'm pretty sure a lot of people won't get it at all. We shall see this evening!

Date: 2019-11-17 04:33 pm (UTC)Yeah, it is a relief. I was worried about the winter setting in before we could get them cleaned, but now they're all done and dusted. And, next door got there's done at the same time so no water coming from their gutters either.
Yeah, it was obvious she put her heart and soul into that dance, but that means nothing in terms of the voting public. If they go on ability Chris should go, I'd be disappointed if he did, but I think he'd admit himself he's the worst dancer left now.
Bonus points for the show last night were the utter bewilderment of some of the pros when Sooty was doing the terms and conditions. That cracked me up.

Date: 2019-11-17 04:16 pm (UTC)thanks so much for linking to the Joey compilation, and that weird IKEA ad; I greatly enjoyed both, and will be linking to them in my journal as well. everyone I know needs to see them both!

Date: 2019-11-17 04:35 pm (UTC)You're welcome. The Ikea ad makes me laugh every time I see it, and has a very catchy tune/song. And I'm very impressed with Joey. It was good to see him going for it.

Date: 2019-11-18 06:34 am (UTC)Congrats again on having working gutters. That definitely sounds like a worthwhile investment.
And I'm excited for cards! You've inspired me to put up my own poll too.

Date: 2019-11-18 08:02 am (UTC)Awesome, I'll be filling in your poll asap, and I must get mine done as I'd like to get the international cards in the post soon.

Date: 2019-11-18 07:56 pm (UTC)I need to take a look at the last no_tags story - thank you for reminding me! (And way to exaggerate! I've only known you and your writing for at most half a million years ;-D
Hooray for clean gutters!! (We actually had sunshine yesterday! But today it's been drizzling all day. So depressing.)
I'm sure you'll enjoy the Christmas movie enormously!

Date: 2019-11-19 09:15 am (UTC)Ahahaha, half a million years is a lot, too!
Drizzle is always depressing. If it's going to be cold it should be the crisp sunny kind of cold, not that constant grey drizzle.
We're going to see the Christmas movie today and can't wait.

Date: 2019-11-19 09:06 am (UTC)Ahahahaha. You may be right!
I've just attempted a few guesses at the guessing post. Normally I fail totally at those but I thought, why not? I'm actually pretty sure of two, then have some strong hunches. The rest would be pure guesses.

Date: 2019-11-19 09:07 am (UTC)YES! I totally agree, and about Emma Thompson.
We're going to see it later today and I plan to enjoy every last cheesy ridiculous moment.

Date: 2019-11-24 09:11 pm (UTC)Dunno if it's me, but it feels hella early for Last Christmas to drop? OTOH, it's possible that the ppl behind the movie want to avoid the onslaught of SW Ep. 9 and whatever else drops in December.

Date: 2020-01-09 01:18 pm (UTC)Last Christmas did drop early, and I suspect you're right they wanted to avoid SW as once that came out pretty much every screen was filled with that. Saying that though, Last Christmas stayed on for a really long time. I know it got slated in reviews but obviously had some appeal. No doubt from cheesy Christmas lovers like me *g*
