no_tags has been revealed so I can say I wrote We're Going Down Swinging which is technically Frank/Gerard and Mikey/Pete but in reality more gen with a nod to the pairings and involves battling to survive against aliens. The prompt called to me as soon as I saw it and I had a lot of fun writing it, and apparently was very me if you know my writing.

As always, huge thanks go to themoononastick for beta reading and encouragement when I was wobbling about the ending.

I know it's not exactly how the exchange works due to being anon, but thank you to dapatty for the lovely response to my prompt.

And in general, a well done to everyone who took part, the mods, the writers and especially the two pinch hitters who went above and beyond to get stories to everyone. ♥ to all.

It was Tinker's B12 injection day yesterday, so the plan was to attempt it when she was relaxed and chilled on my lap. That was attempt number two as my first thought had been to do it when she was lying on the cat tower against the radiator, at which point she usually turns into a limp fur rug. However, when I attempted to reach her she stuck her nails in the material of the tower, increased to double her size in stand up floof and then ran away. Then the lap idea didn't work either. Tinker Two. Terri Zero.

It's rained non-stop yesterday, so the porch roof was leaking again. But, if anywhere in the house is to leak, it's good that it's there as apart from having damp patches on the wallpaper and having to take a picture down that gets dripped on, there was no major issues. Though, I would prefer no leak at all of course.

Today I'm half considering going to a huge festive fair at the Stadium of Light, our local football stadium. One hand one, hundreds of stalls filled with festive goods, carol singers, entertainment etc. On the other, it's wet, it's cold, half the stalls are outside, plus, I'm a sucker at the best of time for market-style stuff, add in the festive element and I can see me coming home with bags of festive flavour cheese, artisan loaves and overpriced slices of cake, stuff we don't actually need and don't really have the money for.

I guess we'll see if I can resist the pull of festive magic.

After two failed attempts I'm feeling a bit intimidated about the injection. It went fine last time, so why the issues now I don't know.

Yeah, it's the rain that's putting me off more than anything. I can deal with the cold, but adding the wet in an extra level of nope.

It's funny, but one of my Glee WIPs (Fight-Club!Blaine) is called "Come Back Swinging." Now I'll always link it to your story in my mind. *g*

OMG, injecting cats. I say get James or Corey and have them hold her down. I would hate to try and do it myself. I couldn't even rub the thyroid medicine on Pippin's ear without her bolting mid-rub.

Stay inside! It is rainy here too, and that is my plan.

Now that's a crossover to boggle the mind, Glee/bandom fight club with aliens. Though, actually, the fight club element could work in the universe I wrote about.

I wish Corey was home as that would make it so much easier. I think we'll have to try James holding her in a towel for the next attempt, she won't like it but it has to be done.

I didn't know you could get rub in thyroid meds for cats. That would have been so much easier than trying to get Tinker to take medicine.

James is still snoozing so staying inside is still winning. Though I'm going to Kayleigh's later this afternoon so will have to leave the house at some point.

We always had to wrap our Paddy up in a towel (which he hated and complained loudly about, because complaining loudly is what he was best at) but it made it possible, and we gave him a wee treat afterwards which habituated him enough to stop struggling when we wrapped him. It's hard though.

Yeah, that sounds like a cat alright. We had to do the same for Tinker in the end, she hates it, but better restrained and the injection given in seconds than messing around.

I suspect it is that as it only happens in certain conditions. It should be an easy fix, but it's just one more thing that needs doing and paid for too much at the moment.

Oh, Tinker, why must you be such prickly? SMH. My mom used to wrap her cat with an old towel whenever she had to put eyedrops on her (occasionally mean). IIRC, she would either give Toby a treat or use the laser pointer to reward him for allowing the medicine.

Ooof at leaks. Those are totally unfun.

Same goes for going to a festival when it's cold and wet. Even if you're insulated to the chin, brrrrr. Here's hoping you can hold out on the pull.

The reveal seemed to have gone with a whimper with little interaction, which is a shame as it was a lovely group of stories. Just, some people had to work their socks off to do multiple fills. I do wonder if it was just a lack of realisation by new people that putting a prompt in meant they actually had to write a fill themselves or just bad luck for multiple people. Maybe a mix of both.

That's a good idea, and one we used on Tinker. Both to help with the not moving, and to help with the inevitable peeing issues. It's one of the reasons I'm glad she's been moved to monthly injections now. Less trauma for all involved.

I did hold out against the festive pull and saved some money, which is always a plus. I know for a fact I would have bought a load of stuff that wasn't actually needed.

They really are. Thankfully the last attempt went better as James helped. But I'm very glad she's been moved to monthly injections now.

I actually stayed strong which was amazing. I think the wet aspect swung it, and at least I saved some money.

Thankfully the next try did work and Tinker got her injection. Can't say they get easier though.

The leak is frustating, but at least only happens in heavy rain that hits in a certain direction.
