Today we've been for a walk at the wetlands. We've got a membership there so it was free to get in, which is always a plus. But, we splashed out £2.50 for three bags of bird food, and then there were hardly any birds there and the ones that were weren't hungry. So, I brought two bags back and filled our feeders in the garden. Not that the lack of birds mattered, it was just lovely to get out into the winter sunshine and walk. Especially as James was using the scooter so we could walk a nice distance.

Then I came home and rearranged the shelves so I could display the new Funkos and put away the DVDs. It was pointless keeping them on the shelves as all they were doing was taking up space as we don't actually have a DVD player now. While in the area I sorted out under the fish cupboard, and can safely say we're not about to run out of candles any time soon.

Then I made bubble and squeak with the leftovers from the new years roast I finally made, and it was delicious. Though, with that, and the roast dinner leftovers sent home with us from my aunt's, I can say that as delicious as they are, I could do with a break from roast dinners for a while.

It was a lovely day.

I could play DVDs on my computer but to be honest it's just easier to stream or download stuff now. Not that I'm actually getting rid of the DVDs, they're in the cupboard if I ever want to see them. But for now I'm enjoying the extra shelf space.

I did Frugal!January and waited until I came home to make a bagel that I already owned, rather than stopping at the bagel store next to the pharmacy for a bagel. It was a close call, since I was near my brother's house and would have been willing to bring them bagels, but still, SUCCESS.

My bird were straight at the seed, unlike the picky birds at the wetlands! Fussy things that they are.

Actually, your display did inspire me, though I need to find some blue-tack to stop the Funkos falling over.

That is an excellent success for frugal!January. It's those sorts of things that make the money stack up so way to go! I was mean yesterday and told James instead of calling into McDonalds for a cold drink on the way home from our walk he could wait until we got home. We were only ten minutes away at the time and he wouldn't expire waiting that long *g*

It was lovely. I like the wetlands, it has well set out walking routes where you can either take the inner circle or the outer one which is a bit longer and takes in a few bird hides. But what makes it ideal is that James can use the scooter so we can walk/motor together.

It was a good day, using up leftovers and decluttering a little. I hardly knew myself *g*

I had fish for tea today, I highly recommend it as a change from all the meat of the festive!

It was such a nice walk. We really need to go there more often as it's very local and a lovely place to go, even if the birds are scarce at the moment. I just need to keep away from the cafe at the end and keep on taking my own drink.

I love candles and often buy them when I see them on sale. But sorting out the cupboard reminded me that I have many of the things to get through. At least I'm sorted in the event of a power cut.

Ah, that sounds nice. I love mash, roast veggies etc. But I seem to have been eating them every day for weeks now.

It's amazing how things put away safely in cuboards can multiply, isn't it ;-D

It was an excellent walk. I had the feeling it was totally the wrong kind of year to feed the birds but got seed just in case. Two geese were there in the goose feeding bit but a little girl was feeding them. It didn't feel right to ease her out of the way to feed them myself *g*

It is! I'm sure I didn't put as many candles into the cupboard so they must have multiplied!

It's so funny how I've scaled down from buying DVDs. IIRC, the last one I bought was Black Panther? No, it was Wonder Woman. I prefer to have as many things on digital as possible. Also, the one thing that I loved about DVDs (commentaries from the director and/or cast) is something that's been phased out for reasons I don't understand.

I prefer to have as many things on digital as possible. Also, the one thing that I loved about DVDs (commentaries from the director and/or cast) is something that's been phased out for reasons I don't understand.

I haven't bought any new DVDs for the longest time. Like you, I prefer the digital format. Though, I agree, it's a shame that the commentaries have been phased out. Those used to be interesting and fun to listen to.
