Jan. 11th, 2020 01:31 pmI seem to have the worst luck with dishwashers. I tend to set the dishwasher off after tea and let it do its thing. Just before going to bed last night I realised that while the motor was running, no water was going through and all the dishes inside were still dirty. At that point, all I wanted to do was raise my fists to the sky and go, why? WHY!? But what I did instead was get on Google, and after looking at a few videos and sites saw that some people fixed a problem with the same model as we have by tipping it up at a 45-degree angle. So, I pulled the thing out, tipped it up, and it worked. I guess there must have been a blockage somewhere, but whatever it was, I'm glad something so simple was actually worked.
It's been blowing an absolute hoolie since last night. I was going to have a walk up Kayleigh's today but decided to stay in instead. Especially so as we have tickets booked to watch 1917 this afternoon. James is picking me up after work and we'll head to Durham, getting there just before the show starts. It's a film James has wanted to see since the trailer dropped, but, considering he'll be coming off his 4th day of work, I'd say the chance of him staying awake through the whole thing is at 0%.
I still haven't seen Party of Five but have been catching up on Prodigal Son and Schitt's Creek. Man, I've missed that show and those characters. It was great to see them again, though sad to know we're heading towards the end.

Date: 2020-01-11 06:21 pm (UTC)It's such a great show, I've still got two aired episodes to watch and am looking forward to doing so. It amazes me just how twisted the relationships in that family can get.

Date: 2020-01-12 06:00 pm (UTC)Yesterday was terrible weather wise. But today has been lovely, so much so we've been out for a walk in the sunshine.

Date: 2020-01-13 12:33 pm (UTC)Of course he fell asleep. He outdid himself even, falling asleep within minutes of it starting. Though, did wake up to watch most after a loud explosion on screen.

Date: 2020-01-13 02:43 pm (UTC)So did James fall asleep? Inquiring minds want to know! I enjoyed it a lot. The story was personal and gripping and it made me cry a lot, which is always a good sign.
The wind was crazy Friday night here! Blew my bar-height table and umbrella over.

Date: 2020-01-13 04:59 pm (UTC)Of course he fell asleep. Then woke up at the rat scene. Very abruptly. It was an excellent film, I loved the human touch and some of the filmed scenes were stunning. Which is weird to say about war, but even so, wow visually.
The weather is crazy lately. It's windy again here, we're having storm Brendan atm, so I shake my fist in Urie's direction!

Date: 2020-01-13 06:05 pm (UTC)Everybody's talking about Schitt's Creek. Unfortunately it's not easily available anywhere in Finland (how on earth are we still having this problem in 2020???????) but maybe soon!

Date: 2020-01-14 05:31 pm (UTC)I really don't know. I've used it so much for practical tips.
I hope you'll be able to see it soon, it really is a good show. It's on Netflix here but a few months behind, so am downloading this new season.

Date: 2020-01-23 11:17 pm (UTC)Funnily enough, not even [REDACTED TO KEEP MY THIRST WELL HIDDEN] Richard Madden* is not enough for me to watch 1917. #IAmABadFilmNerd War movies (from any decade) are not my cuppa at all. So there has to be a super important reason for me to sit thru them. Hell, I'm still on the fence to go see Seb's upcoming war movie (The Last Measure) because it has to do with the Vietnam war.
[...]I'd say the chance of him staying awake through the whole thing is at 0%
Did James fall asleep? INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOWWWWW!!!
* According to what a fellow R. Madden thirst friend told me, he's not in the movie that much so that took care of the rest of my enthusiasm for 1917, lol lol lol. #ForeverShallow

Date: 2020-02-04 05:57 pm (UTC)As you'll have seen, James did fall asleep. I knew he would even though he was really eager to see the film. But even now I remember him and the man jumping at the horribly loud explosion and laugh all over again, because I'm mean like that.
War films don't tend to be my thing either. I'll watch them and actually liked 1917 a lot, but they'd never be my first choice.
