It was another sunny but cold day, so we had another walk to the Wetlands.

This time James didn't take the scooter. He's made a pledge to have a walk every day and the wetlands is perfect for that as there are plenty of benches all around the walks, and as we did the inner circle route which is just under a mile, it was a nice stroll for us both.

Most of the ponds were iced over, but the ducks were managing to swim in the uniced parts.

One of the otters found a bit of fish leftover from an earlier feeding and was having a good old chew on that fish head.

They have some dalmatian pelicans in at the moment. They're in quarantine before going off to London wetlands next month. But wow, were those things big, and the beaks made a hell of a bang when they snapped them together.

Yesterday we went to see Bad Boys For Life and it was okay. A popcorn movie really with lots of action and implausible plot but hey, I suspected that going in so it was a nice enough few hours. Going to Durham meant we had our walk going through Durham itself, up into the market square where James had his photo taken holding an owl and we swerved the car park you have to pay for by parking on the big hill that goes out of the centre of town. I was actually proud of James and all the walking he did as with having no ability to flex his ankles he finds hills really hard, but he did them. Maybe not without complaint, but did them anyway.

Snowflake will happen tomorrow, but it's so lovely to read all the posts that have already been posted in response, so many fantastic people being showered with praise ♥

It sounds like a fun excursion, and what great photos! I love the silhouetted branches. The ice on the water makes me feel chilly just looking at it, and what cool views of the otter and the pelicans in action!

Lovely wetlands photos! Go you and James for walking like bosses too!

Yeah, I'm giving Bad Boys for Life a miss although the great-nephew wants to see it. Not my thing. *g*

It looks like you'd a lovely walk. Sunny winter days are wonderful even without snow :-)

What a cute otter!!

Pelicans are such weird-looking birds. The proportions are all wrong somehow.

Go you and go James for all the walking you're doing!

PS Take that, expensive car park :-)

Ahh, the otter is so cute! If they weren't so stinky I think I'd have to steal one from somewhere to keep in our flat :D

Pelicans are SCARY AF. I remember going to some bird sanctuary thing where I was like THESE THINGS ARE GOING TO KILL ME AND EAT ME WITH THEM HUGE BEAKS!!! XD

Hooray for that nice walk. It sounds like both you and James had a great time.

You know what's funny? I don't think I've ever watched any of the Bad Boys movies. Though I have ZERO IDEA why. The first one was airing on TV and I tuned in for abt all of 5 minutes before I went "naaaaah" and changed the channel to something else. THAT SAID, I've heard that it's exactly as you mention in your post: a total popcorn movie that does exactly what it promises.
