We managed to get Murphy a toy, this automatic thing that spun a feather on a string. He's managed to pull the feather off within a few minutes #thug
In good news, Corey phoned last night to say he's getting his 80% wages, he's not sure how much as it can either go on an average over the year or follow his monthly wages which changed depending on whether it was term time or not. But, whatever it is, it was a huge relief he is getting that as he was worried they'd base it on his official contract which is for four hours only. He's still bored out of his skull being alone in his house share but at least he'll be getting paid.
And I just had a phone call from the lymph clinic cancelling my appointment for next week. Not that I'm surprised as I'm sure they don't want extra people wandering into the hospice. After a telephone conversation, I'm getting the same measurement of compressions as last time, which is fine as these ones still fit. Maybe a bit snug due to not walking as much and fluid building up a bit but that'll go down when I get out more. So, next appointment is October when she said hopefully things will be back to normal.
The mini-challenge for April has been released at
hc_bingo and I need to decide if I'm taking part. It's a crossover based on four prompts and I'm tempted. But history shows I'm the worst at bingos. However, I did manage one last year, this could be the year I do that again.
If you remember my oldest nephew is in foster care and a few days ago we found out he's going to be moved, but somewhere three and a half hours away from here. It's a shock as things were just starting to go right for my SIL. Her partner and the dad of my youngest niece and nephew is allowed to go back home in a few weeks and my SIL was about to be able to see my oldest nephew unsupervised a few times a week, and now this. The foster parent he has now is quitting as she's going to have a baby very soon and this new place is the only one they can find that fits his needs. He's fine about going, thinks it's a huge adventure, but of course his mam and my MiL are both in bits.

Date: 2020-04-03 03:19 pm (UTC)It's so far away. Apparently he can be driven up for a visit once a week for four hours. But that'll mean a full day travelling for him, there and back. He'll be exhausted after a while.

Date: 2020-04-03 10:31 pm (UTC)It really is. You’re right, that sounds like it’d be so exhausting for him 🥺
I saw This and thought of you

Date: 2020-04-04 06:48 am (UTC)That's really rough that your nephew is going to be so far away. I hope it will be a good fit in all other ways though.

Date: 2020-04-04 08:04 am (UTC)James was talking to my nephew last night and he's excited like this is a big adventure. The place he's going is perfect for his needs, it's just a shame it's so far away.

Date: 2020-04-04 01:38 pm (UTC)Three and a half hours away just seems SO excessive. And cruel, tbh. Are there really no other options?

Date: 2020-04-04 03:09 pm (UTC)I'm trying to type around him now as he's sitting in front of the monitor watching the cursor move. At least he wasn't here when I was reading fic, he's too young for that *g*
It is excessive, the weekly travel is going to be hard on him, and the person who needs to travel with him. We were talking to him last night, and his foster parent, and though they obviously can't give details it's apparently an autism unit he's going to with great facilities. Just, it's so far away :(

Date: 2020-04-05 07:30 pm (UTC)I know it can be difficult to find a place that fits but surely they could have found something closer than that?! It's going to be so hard for everyone.

You'd think so, but apparently not. He's leaving at 6am tomorrow and apparently reality has hit as he's upset about going. He's had to leave his actual home and now his foster home he's been at for nearly a year. That's a lot of change.

Date: 2020-04-05 08:49 pm (UTC)Glad to hear Corey is ok (though bored). Sorry to hear your nephew is ending up so far away! That's really tough.

Date: 2020-04-08 02:35 pm (UTC)I feel for Corey. I understand why his girlfriend stayed home, but at least if she'd have been there they would have had company. Though, together 3 years or not, being together 24/7 would have been tough too.

Date: 2020-04-07 03:02 am (UTC)Good news about Corey's wages, though. It would've been dreadful if they'd only considered his contract, instead of how much he actually worked.

Date: 2020-04-07 04:38 pm (UTC)But yeah, I was so pleased Corey's wages worked out. Thankfully his work has been decent, and it's those things you remember. Not that I'd be going to a student based nightclub myself, but I will praise them.
