Apr. 13th, 2020 03:05 pmDine posted a link to lol cats, and I feel this one

He's adorable, but man, still tends to either be creating havoc or fast asleep. But then will clamber onto your lap for a cuddle and everything is instantly forgiven. The other day there was an almighty crash from the kitchen then the sound of splashing water. I have a wicker heart hanging in the kitchen window, he must have jumped up to get it, missed, landed on top of the vase of flowers and somehow managed to turn on the tap so water was hitting the empty sink at full force. There were petals and water everywhere, and he just sat on the table looking most put out he was now wet.
He's sort of friends with Milo now in that Milo will tolerate him for so long before pointedly walking away. Though there's a power struggle for the doughnut on the top of the cat tower going on. It's one of Milo's favourite places to sleep and is now Murphy's too. So often a lot of sneaking goes on to the claim that prize spot. Pansy still hates him though. Nothing has changed there.
Other than watching the cats little has been going on. My oldest nephew is settled in his new place and is very happy. As we couldn't deliver eggs all nieces and nephews got money transferred to them and I sent some to Corey so he could treat himself to a takeaway, or buy chocolate but I assume a pizza or some other takeaway would have been more appealing to him. I'm working my way through a chocolate Henrietta hen, and very nice she is too.
I did run out of dishwasher tablets, which is a very minor thing and not an issue as such as I have plenty of washing up liquid and can wash the dishes by hand. Just, it was reminder of how things have changed. Before I could have easily nipped over the road to Lidl and got more. Or as it was a beautiful sunny day when I ran out, picked more up from a supermarket after a drive to the beach. As it was, I really didn't want to get into the carefully spaced queue and wait ages to get in the shop just for one thing. So, waiting it is.
Oh, and like many houses on the estate, we now have teddies in some of the windows so the kids can look for them on their daily allowed walk. Except, along with the teddies I also have my ET. He's in the bedroom window looking down at the Lidl carpark and probably wanting to go home.
I've been catching up of the last season of This Is Us. I still really like the show but am at the point of thinking, omg, please, something happy happen for once. I also need to concentrate due to so many different timelines being used, often some appearing that I wasn't expecting at all.

Date: 2020-04-14 11:19 am (UTC)I have to laugh at them fighting over the doughnut. You'd think it was the best spot ever!

Date: 2020-04-13 04:04 pm (UTC)I really like the teddy in the window movement - that's just so great.

Date: 2020-04-14 11:20 am (UTC)I'm enjoying seeing all the teddies in windows myself, and it's such a simple thing to do.

It takes so much more planning to manage household supplies now! Not that the necessities aren't available in some form, but yeah, it's all a much bigger production now.

Date: 2020-04-14 11:23 am (UTC)My nephew has his own room with his own key which he thinks is the best thing ever. Having to move to a group home doesn't seem to have affected him at all, which is a relief.

Exactly. The stuff is there but so much harder to get hold of. Like, I had to go pick up my prescription earlier and normally would have nipped into the shops on the way home, but every single one of the ones actually open had huge carefully spaced queues. I doubt any quick popping in to buy something will happen for a while yet.

Date: 2020-04-14 07:21 pm (UTC)What's a Henrietta hen? Inquiring minds need to know!

Date: 2020-04-16 06:57 am (UTC)That's very true. Plus, being home has meant apart from an hour or so alone, he's had someone with him at all times. Because despite him being a livewire it must have been a bit scary to come to a new home.
This is a Henriette hen. I like Lidl chocolate as it's not very sweet, so I've been taking bits off Henriette for days now.

I wish that we had a window looking out on more than just the top of a tree, because I think the teddy thing is such a great idea. Even as a grown adult I appreciate spotting them in windows and trees. It helps to feel like part of a community, which suburban Australia isn't very good at a lot of the time. (Although the teddies don't make me get teary like Captain Moore has!)

Date: 2020-04-18 04:59 pm (UTC)Captain Moore is fantastic. I've enjoyed watching him and I love how dignified he is. The teddies are still in windows around the area, that and rainbows everywhere. Pavement chalk is getting a lot of use and I've seen a few houses with multi-coloured bricks up to kid height. It's ridiculously cute.

Date: 2020-04-21 08:46 pm (UTC)And, yeah, it's a bit wild sometimes when I'm like "Oh, I gotta schedule when to go to the supermarket or pharmacy" vs. going whenever I want. Like, my pharmacy is usually open 24 hrs., so I could pop in any time I wanted. Th eonly thing I don't know is if ppl are aware of how different things will be even AFTER the virus is conquered. This had upended everything and I don't think we'll see any real consequences until Nov at the earliest.
I was abt to watch This is Us at one point during its first season based on an ex-coworker's rec. But I missed the window and then learned that the show REALLY LAYS IT ON THICK with the drama. So, looking back, maybe it's a good thing I never got into it? I dunno.
