Sep. 20th, 2020 06:38 pmI've mostly been reading winterhawk and Musketeers lately, but I've read two bandom stories lately that I'm going to rec. They're both short and I enjoyed both a lot, though, I am that person who comments on a very hot Frank/Gerard that my favourite part was the Mikey and Frank scene.
The first is Three Hundred and Sixty One Shades of Blue by wenchpixie and dapatty. It's Mikey and Frank gen and anyone who knows my love for roomie days will understand why I enjoyed it so much.
The second is Aftercare by Winterlover, which is Frank/Gerard but has a Frank and Mikey scene I really enjoyed.
I've had a lazy weekend, never leaving the house yesterday, which meant I cleaned it top to bottom while watching more Downton and catching up on my surveys, while today I had to go for some groceries, then came home and caught up on yet more surveys and watched more Downton.
I'm on season five now and was I wrong about it being a show about little more than pretty dresses and locations. The melodrama is strong, sadness happening often, and time still seems to fly, but man, I'm enjoying it. While I haven't read any fic I strongly suspect Thomas will be written about often and I also suspect often written as woobiefied. Guess I'll see when I've finished watching.
Last night was the first of the Strictly specials and I enjoyed watching it. Not as much as I expected as none of the dances were shown in full, but it was good to look back. It also reminded me just how much I enjoyed Gleb in the one season he was on the show. Also, new Bake Off starts this week, which I'm very much looking forward to. Plus, on that night 911 Lonestar also starts, and flist opinion was that's worth watching. And new Jack Whitehall, Travels With My Father, so Tuesday night is looking to be a good tv night.

Date: 2020-09-21 08:26 am (UTC)I'm excited about bakeoff - I hope it's a kind season, we need that this year.
I've started a Downton rewatch as well - there's something comforting about it, and there's been nothing as entertainingly soothing on a Sunday night since it finished. On prime, the last episode of season 5 is not in order, so you'll need to come out of series link and then watch what they've called season 501 to get that Christmas episode before season 6 or a lot of things won't make any sense.

Date: 2020-09-23 05:44 pm (UTC)I enjoyed Bake Off last night, it was just what I needed.
Your comment about Downton is very timely as I've just watched the last ep of seasone 5 and would have just automatically let it go to the next in 6 if I hadn't seen this. As it was I had to actually search for season 501 to queue it up for tomorrow.
I'm enjoying watching so much. There is a lot of melodrama, but also fantastic characters and such pretty things to look at.
