I enjoyed being a part of [community profile] fandom_stocking when it was around, and now there is [community profile] fandomtrees which is on the same lines and looks pretty cool. I need to think about if I'm going to join and if so what I want under my tree. If it's something you're interested in, you should go sign too.

The dentist went well a few days ago,

Sadly they couldn't just stick my cap back on as the tooth it was attached to had actually snapped, so some drilling had to happen and stuff put in to strengthen it, and while none of that actually hurt, my face still felt bruised after. At one point the dentist didn't know if she could go ahead as due to COVID no drilling is supposed to happen, but she opened all the windows and said she'd do it anyway wearing a full mask as it would take less than a minute, and she was right.

She did warn that the cap isn't as strong as it was and if it falls off again I'll have to get a bridge, which would be a good option as the teeth either side are fine and strong. Even so, sometimes I really regret getting those caps and think I should have just stuck with wonky teeth.

On the plus side, the final bill was just under £30 which was less than I was expecting.

Corey phoned yesterday and he's doing okay. Furloughed again for the moment but has bubbled with his girlfriend so at least he has company for some of the time.

Some lovely person has been reading and commenting on my MCR gen stuff, so I've been having a reread of some while replying and enjoyed doing so. I still love Contagious Creativity a lot, while I do love h/c the most, I also love stories like this too, so am glad it stood up to a reread.

And on the theme of reading, lately I've been reading the latest Ilona Andrews Hidden Legacy book. While the Inkeeper series is my favourite of theirs, there's not a series I haven't enjoyed and this book is no different. Thank you to [personal profile] eglantiere for keeping me in the Ilona Andrews loop, seriously, they must laugh at me so much as every post of theirs about a new book being out I'm there commenting, I didn't know, I must download asap!

Is the HL book a second book with the younger sister and the Italian playboy/assassin? I have to go find the novella that bridges the first and second trilogies b/c I read the first full book and they kept talking about the older sister's wedding (to the other prime that everyone called Mad) and everyone knew each other from there and I was clearly missing some pieces of the puzzle.

(also, glad your dentist trip worked out & that C has someone to be with during this lockdown.)

That does not sound like a fun dentist visit at all! But I'm glad to hear it's done for now and I hope the cap lasts as long as possible.

Best wishes to Corey (and his gf).

And yay, I am glad your fic is getting proper love and recognition!

Glad to hear the tooth issue was fixed relatively easily, and cheaply! Fingers crossed the cap stays on!

I love it so much when people comment or kudos on older fic and then I go back and re-read with fresh eyes - it's motivating to write more somehow :). Contagious Creativity is SO CLEVER and fun and I'm glad you've been able to re-enjoy it :D.

Hurrah for the dentist not being ghastly nor hideously dear, that's a good result.

I'm glad furlough proper's been extended, it makes such a difference for people not to be so concerned about money, and I'm glad Corey's been able to bubble - that must be reassuring for you, too.

So glad to hear the visit to the dentist went well and that you now have a complete set of teeth again. And I promise to keep my fingers crossed it won't fall off again!

Hurray for the dentists being *over* and fairly successful, and less financially painful as well.
