Nov. 22nd, 2020 06:06 pmI enjoyed being a part of
fandom_stocking when it was around, and now there is
fandomtrees which is on the same lines and looks pretty cool. I need to think about if I'm going to join and if so what I want under my tree. If it's something you're interested in, you should go sign too.
The dentist went well a few days ago,
Sadly they couldn't just stick my cap back on as the tooth it was attached to had actually snapped, so some drilling had to happen and stuff put in to strengthen it, and while none of that actually hurt, my face still felt bruised after. At one point the dentist didn't know if she could go ahead as due to COVID no drilling is supposed to happen, but she opened all the windows and said she'd do it anyway wearing a full mask as it would take less than a minute, and she was right.
She did warn that the cap isn't as strong as it was and if it falls off again I'll have to get a bridge, which would be a good option as the teeth either side are fine and strong. Even so, sometimes I really regret getting those caps and think I should have just stuck with wonky teeth.
On the plus side, the final bill was just under £30 which was less than I was expecting.
Corey phoned yesterday and he's doing okay. Furloughed again for the moment but has bubbled with his girlfriend so at least he has company for some of the time.
Some lovely person has been reading and commenting on my MCR gen stuff, so I've been having a reread of some while replying and enjoyed doing so. I still love Contagious Creativity a lot, while I do love h/c the most, I also love stories like this too, so am glad it stood up to a reread.
And on the theme of reading, lately I've been reading the latest Ilona Andrews Hidden Legacy book. While the Inkeeper series is my favourite of theirs, there's not a series I haven't enjoyed and this book is no different. Thank you to
eglantiere for keeping me in the Ilona Andrews loop, seriously, they must laugh at me so much as every post of theirs about a new book being out I'm there commenting, I didn't know, I must download asap!

Date: 2020-11-23 01:17 pm (UTC)Hurrah for the dentist not being ghastly nor hideously dear, that's a good result.
I'm glad furlough proper's been extended, it makes such a difference for people not to be so concerned about money, and I'm glad Corey's been able to bubble - that must be reassuring for you, too.

Date: 2020-11-23 02:42 pm (UTC)I was thrilled at the cost of the dentist, especially as it was even less than they'd said when I booked which was amazing.
Yeah, I worried about Corey and how alone he would have been without being able to bubble with his girlfriend. At least when she's there he has company, otherwise, when he's furloughed it's staying in his flat with a walk to the shop once a week or so.

Date: 2020-11-23 05:23 pm (UTC)Yeah, it is.
Your comment made me laugh because I totally missed the novella that bridged the first and second trilogies too. I remember sitting reading Sapphire Flames and it was talking about the prime who'd saved the wedding and I was all, what wedding? The hell? It was very confusing without that info.
