Thank you [personal profile] ephemera for the card, it was lovely to receive this afternoon ♥

The temperature dial on my oven is loose and as a result turns if bumped, which can happen easily when I'm at the washer, sink etc which are close to the cooker. I know this, and yet still managed to cremate a pasta bake tonight. Something I only realised when the timer went off, I opened the door and was hit by lots of smoke. Poor pasta bake, it would have been delicious too. But, I have to admit, I did pull the top layer of pasta off and served the rest, a bit charcoal won't hurt I'm sure.

Other than that it's been a lazy day. I tidied, put up more lights in the hall and kitchen window and caught up online a bit.

We did get a shock when the doctor phoned. James still has some pain and saw the doctor again last week and some tests came back positive for e.coli and he needs to be on antibiotics for 10 days, with the doctor suspecting he'll need another course the same as what he has is a bit stubborn. But, at least we know what this final issue is now and I get to laugh at him a little because seriously, e.coli, of course, he has that. Of course.

Corey also rang to say he's being trained up to be a barista for his work, which I assume means his bosses are hoping the area will be moved to tier two next week and the pubs can reopen and start serving alcohol again alongside meals/coffee. He also said most of his workmates got let go unless they'd worked for the company for over two years, which thankfully he has so right now his job is safe.

Oh no, poor James! You guys just don't get any breaks, do you. I hope the antibiotics do their thing thoroughly.

But I'm glad Corey still has his job. And that at least some of your pasta could be rescued. Mm, pasta. I need to go make dinner.

Ooops? Though a bit of charcoal is probably good for your tummy I suspect.

You can never have too many holiday lights!

Oh no! Poor James! I hope the antibiotics will help quickly and that he'll soon be pain free again!

Good to hear Corey still has his job!

Burned pasta bake! That doesn't sound tasty, but if you say you can rip the top off and its good, I believe you. *g*

Good luck to James for his antibiotic run.

And good news for Corey! Hopefully, he can remain employed through this mess.

Oh poor James, that sounds fairly miserable for him, I hope the antibs work their magic quickly.

That's good news for Corey, in amongst all the precariousness.
