Ignite was good last night. Though, busier and muddier than I expected. Bookings were done on a time slot basis and there were stewards everywhere making sure bubbles didn't get too close. But even so, the walk was more like a shuffle at times.

They did have mulled wine but at £7:50 a glass no way was I buying any. I know that National Trust properties can be expensive at times, but that was ridiculous.

It was lovely to get out and see something new, not a supermarket or shop or, as much as I love the place for walks, the beach. It was cold, it was wet, I did get muddy, but it was worth it.








































That last one of James shows the gaps they were keeping between household bubbles. No one broke that, but it did make for the slow walk.

I have a huge smile just from seeing the photos - it looks magical!

It felt magical. All the lights and the scent of smoke and because water was dripping from the trees into the flames they kept hissing and popping.

I do wish we could have had more time to stand and take in all the displays. But I still very much enjoyed it.

It was a nice night out and despite it being busy it also felt safe with everyone kept separate and totally outside.

I do wish it was possible to linger around all the lights and flames, both for better photos and to take them in. But I was always aware of the people behind.

Honestly, with being tier-three I was expecting the event to be cancelled but I'm very glad it wasn't.

It must have taken a lot of organising to ensure everything was as safe as possible.

Hopefully, we can all enjoy festive nights out next year.

The dragon was amazing! I really loved the troll displays too and would have loved more time to just sit and take in all the little details.

I was very impressed with how they organised things.

Everything was no contact, anti bac stations were everywhere and the stewards were very firm about leaving big gaps between household groups.

I'm really glad we went.

I was shocked when I saw how expensive it was. I mean, I knew it would be overpriced, but not by that much.

Wow! It looks absolutely magical! So many cool and pretty things! Totally worth getting a little cold and muddy. (Next year you'll just have to remember and bring some hot drinks with you.)

I should have taken a flask, I knew it was going to be cold and wet after all.

All the displays were great, even now I can easily remember the flicker of flames and the hiss of the oil as it was hit by rain.

Exactly! No way would I pay that for what was sure to be a small glass of mulled wine.

Thank you! Someone was selling them in aid of the cat shelter we got Murphy from, so I had to get one.

The dragon was great. All the areas were really, but the troll and fairy garden part really needed more time to just stay still and take better photos.

The mulled wine was terribly expensive! I would have begrudged every sip at that price *g*
