Dec. 16th, 2020 02:18 pmI thought I'd jinxed myself yesterday when I tried to log on and amend my Asda slot and found I didn't actually have one booked. I searched my emails for the booking confirmation, checked back on here for the post where I'd mentioned getting a slot, could remember actually sitting and ordering over £60 worth of cat food to reserve the slot and making a mental note to come back and do the actual shop later. But nope, it wasn't there.
In the end, I decided it could have been one of two things. I was deep in post-Covid fatigue at the time so thought I could have actually messed up and not clicked save on the order. Or Asda itself could have blipped. After phoning up it turns out it was neither of those things and I'd saved it via James' account and yes, the order is still coming on Monday. I'm just glad it got sorted as otherwise Monday morning I would have taken delivery of three huge boxes of cat food and a net of satsumas. Which would have been great for the cats, not so much Christmas dinner.
On balance it was a good day yesterday, cards got delivered and we had a nice drive to pick up a cat toy we'd won in an auction to support Consett Cats, the rescue where we got Murphy. Then after getting home a guy came out and changed the kitchen socket. He's a friend of our opposite neighbour and I suspect he gave mate of mates rates as it only cost £10 to get it done, and that included an actual new socket. Excuse the TMI, but I also finally arranged an appointment to get my contraceptive implant changed. Only one doctor can do it in our practice and she hasn't actually been on the premises since the beginning of the year so they advised that I should get in touch with family planning, except getting through to them has been almost impossible.
You can now watch Prime Video via Sky, which is great. This means in the very near future I'm going to watch 'A Christmas Gift From Bob' the Christmas film about Bob the Streetcat. I may not get to see it at the cinema with my festive Costa, but at home will be nearly as good.
I'm also watching the new season of This Is Us on Prime. I still love the show and each episode pulls me in, but man, it can be hard going at times. That family go through the wars and then some.
Things that made me smile lately these photos and article about the Leverage reboot. I'm very much enjoying watching that when it finally airs and have been reading some Leverage OT3 fic amongst my usual Musketeers and Winterhawk.

I will do. It looks good, but the trailer also seems like the film will have sad bits.

Date: 2020-12-18 11:43 am (UTC)I'm just glad I worked out what had happened. I really was starting to think I'd imagined placing an order at all.
They are a welcome event. Getting stuff done but not rushing and running in circles to do so doesn't happen often.
Yes! I'm looking forward to new Leverage so much!

Date: 2020-12-18 11:41 am (UTC)It's such a good show, but sometimes I don't know why I keep watching because half of the time it's damn depressing.

Date: 2020-12-18 05:18 pm (UTC)Good to hear you managed to get through to family planning in the end! (I'm so grateful the Swedish version of NHS has made it possible to book/change appointments and renew medicin online. It saves so much time and frustration!)
Have fun watching Bob's Christmas film!

I wish we could do this here. It's starting to arrive, my doctor has an app where I can order medicine and cancel appointments, but not actually make them. It took nearly a fortnight of phoning before I actually got to talk to someone at Family Planning and make an appointment which was just a bit frustrating.
