Thank you to [personal profile] shadowhive, [personal profile] dine, [personal profile] romantical and [personal profile] bettina for the cards. I loved them all and all the messages made me smile ♥

I enjoyed the Strictly final a lot last night. I was happy with the winner but wouldn't have cared who won tbh. It also got me in the feels a few times, especially coming so soon after the new Christmas and tier four announcement. The show and everyone involved with it really have done amazingly well to ride every bump and change over the last few months.

As for the new announcement. I feel for everyone who have had their tiers changed or been put back into a lockdown. I'm disappointed that Corey and my In-laws can't visit for as long as planned, but at least they can still visit. So many others have had even that taken from them, and at such a late stage too.

James went back to work on Friday, then is back tomorrow for three days before being off for Christmas. His first day back went okay, he was sad he wasn't going back to the job he loves so much, but he is back with his work friends, just in a different role. And, after talking about the hours available, a five day week with shorter hours should suit him better. Especially so as he has a load of banked rota days off which will need using in the next few months. Looking back it's been a lot over the time he was off, the worry about potential cancer, procedures, tests, multiple doctors and hospital visits and while he's 90% fully well, still isn't there completely. Add in the positive Covid and no wonder we're both flagging a bit now.

One of my neighbours knocked yesterday to say another neighbour had died. She was such a lovely lady, in her 90s but still sharp and walking down to the shops daily until a few weeks ago. She's one of the two older neighbours we buy a tin of biscuits for, and her tin is upstairs ready to be wrapped. I guess now we'll open them and have a biscuit in her honour at some point. Travel well Mrs W, you were one in a million.

We also dropped gifts and cards off for James' uncle yesterday. He's shielding so we left the bag on the doorway and waved through the window, but once we were in the car he and his wife came to the door to say how they'd had their first COVID vaccination that morning so were halfway to being free. That was a lovely positive to hear.

I've talked about the mail survey I started doing. Well, I finished the month training and am now sending actual chips that will be logged on delivery. Well, I will be, I have the products to send but the first posting date is next week. I get paid in stamps which were very welcome when I sent my Christmas cards earlier in the week, but also, I got the Star Trek presentation pack of stamps which are pretty cool. Also, apparently, a diary which will arrive this week at some point. Not that I've used one in many years. Maybe I should try and make it a plan to be organised in 2021.
