I made a strategic error in my reading last night. As I mentioned I'm reading a very long Downton fic right now, and when I went for my usual bath and read, I noticed my Fire was down to 11%. At which point the decision was, do I go get an actual book or risk it, I risked it, and the thing lost power right on a cliff hanger that was about to be resolved. Woe!

I did watch more It's a Sin last night, and also watched The Masked Singer,

I pretty much knew Blob was Lenny Henry, but omg, MORTON!

I was such a huge A-Ha fan when I was young, like every single inch of my bedroom walls covered in A-Ha posters, multiple A-Ha badges on my school blazer fan. They were everything to me at that time. While I planned on marrying Mags and not Morton, I still got chills when Viking was revealed as Morton. What a beautiful man, what a beautiful voice, and the fact he sang his own song last week and they still didn't get it. My little A-Ha loving heart grew about ten sizes last night.

It also reminded me of a nice moment with dad. We used to go out with him and Pauline once a week for dinner. By that point, he'd been diagnosed with cancer and his Parkinson's was really advanced, so while he went out he couldn't really say much. One day it was just me and him in the car and Take on Me came on the radio and he said 'that's them our Terri loves so much' and it was such a tiny thing but showed he was still in there.

I need to go do a doorstep drop off shop for my MiL and FiL today as my SiLs family -- their usual bubble -- are in isolation before my nephew has a minor op on Wednesday. I also need to buy more cat litter and cat food, and if that takes us past the Costa drive-through, well another hazelnut latte plus may make its way into my hands.

what a lovely moment with your dad, and a terrific memory. you know, every time I watch clips from The masked Singer I enjoy them - I've no idea why I never watch the actual show. I need to remedy that.

it would be a dire shame if the Costa drive-through leapt out and ambushed you whilst you're innocently running errands - enjoy the coffee if that happens

I charged up that night and am back into reading like crazy. I should have known better really, at such a low number I was setting myself up for a shutdown.

I really like The Masked Singer, one of my flist friends posted about the US version when Joey was on it, which is why I watched the UK version, and I'm very glad I did. It's popcorn tv, but the very entertaining kind.

Funnily enough, I was totally ambushed by a coffee! You must be psychic *g*

I loved a-ha so much too! Hunting High and Low was the first album I ever bought with my own money. Wow, what a marvelous performance there - his voice is as gorgeous as ever. - And what a lovely bittersweet memory with your dad too. ♥

Hunting High and Low is such a good album. I knew it anyway but this has just confirmed you have great taste.

His voice is still as fantastic ever. I really like how he slowed down the song, it gave it such a different feel.

It was a very frustrating end to my bath, but totally my own fault.

But, I did get my hazelnut latte. I'll be gutted if they take them off the menu as they're delicious.
