The roofers came today and the house is now watertight again. It took a couple of them about three hours to put new felt over the porch and toilet roof, then seal all the edges. I was hoping I could put the light fitting and bulb back up but they said to leave them out for a bit longer to ensure the ceiling is completely dry inside, which is fair enough.

It was Pancake day yesterday, so we had pancakes for tea. Because I'm lazy, and a bad pancake maker, I bought ready-made ones last time I was at Company. I'd like to say they were nice but they really weren't. Edible, and the fruit I put on top was delicious, but that's as far as I can go. I should have just tried to make homemade ones really.

February is for things I love

Lush products! You knew I'd mention them eventually.

Lush is one of my favourite shops, I love the products and the ethos of the company and always enjoy a chat with the staff when they're open. I've worn Karma perfume as my scent for a very long time, and love the whole karma range. I tend to buy bubble bars because they're much better value, especially since one of the Lush staff members told me a tip to break off pieces and put them in a tea strainer which you hold under the tap for excellent bubbles with a much smaller amount of product used.

Bubble baths make me happy, and I enjoy all the different scents and the way they mould the bubble bars into shapes like Santas or Easter Eggs or dinos or unicorn horns etc. I use their body lotion and body conditioner and like I said, Karma perfume every day. The shower gels smell so good, and the soaps too. I love how they're using naked packaging, so you can get solid shower gel now, saving on the use of plastic.

On the downside, their hair range really doesn't suit my hair, and at times the staff can get a little too eager, especially the seasonal staff. I also know they're expensive so tend to stock up when they have the Boxing Day half-price sale.

Apart from that though, I love the place.

That’s good that the roofers have sorted things out for you

That’s a shame the pancakes weren’t edible. Mum made homemade ones yesterday and they were really nice.

I’m shocked, shocked I say!....well not that shocked

I’ve never been in Lush though I’m tempted to go in if I can find one when this is over to get mum some stuff. I usually get her some body ship things for Christmas but we obviously didn’t go to town this year

glad your roof is once again keeping out the weather (it's nice when that happens)

I never would have guessed about Lush (no wait, I lie - I *totally* would have guessed Lush would be a thing you love)

Yay for a functional roof! It is a thing I am newly appreciative of myself, as I think I mentioned a few posts ago. :)

Also, what I've seen of Lush products almost makes me wish I were a bath kind of person so I could make use of them. They look very tempting. So YAY for small material pleasures.

I love your love of Lush! I'm a fan, too, but a sucky one, I suspect, 'cos I avoid their most iconic products (never tried a bath bomb! Haven't ever bought one!) and mostly stick to skincare. I like the solid-serum-face-bar thingies. And also the shampoo bars. Basically, if it comes in bar form, I'm into it, and I'm not sure why that is, but GOD, yes. WEIRD FORMATS AHOY.

It must be a great relief to finally have your roof fixed! Having to worry about leakage every time it rains must have been very stressful.

I didn't know you were supposed to be eat pancakes on Shrove Tuesday in the UK. Here in Sweden you're supposed to eat semla. Though people cheat and start eating them right after Christmas.

Yes, I seem to remember you having mentioned liking Lush a time or two ;-D I guess you're going to celebrate your birthday with a long and leisury bubble bath, right?
