Feb. 25th, 2021 03:50 pmIt's been a lovely sunny breezy day today, so I got a set of bedding washed and dried on the line. It's the little things that make me happy :)
I also tidied the garden a bit and finally got my nominations in for the h/c exchange. I think I'm starting to understand tag sets etc, but I'm sure themoononastick still regretted saying I could email my frustrations about navigating nominations as she pretty much got a stream of consciousness email as I got the things done. Now I just hope I did them right, and then need to get myself ready to flail all over again when I join the actual challenge and then get an assignment.
Before doing that I finally put in my Lush online order. I had gift cards from Christmas and my birthday and as the physical shops aren't going to open for a while yet I thought I'd get my order in. I have to admit it felt very decadent picking full price products, normally I stock up at the half price sale and then spend about £10 on the seasonal stuff throughout the year, so this was new. Still, soon a box of new bubble bars will be coming my way.
February is for things I love
It struck me earlier that Feb is nearly over so I needed to get my loved things talked about. So next on my list is Pansy.
Back in the day Kayleigh found a small kitten hiding under a bush near the house where she lived at the time. That house is close to a farm and we suspect that Pansy was a feral that had got lost from the rest of her family. She was so small and frightened, and must have been alone for a while as she smelled terrible. Kayleigh couldn't keep her, so along with James I took this kitten to the vets and got her checked to make sure she was okay to come live with us and the 3 other cats we had at the time. She was, and soon she was chipped and spayed and she became one of the four cats I talked about for a very long time.
Pansy is about 10, and while she's loving still has a feral side to her. She spends most of her time upstairs, hanging in Corey's old room but loves to come out for head nudges and to lie on our bed at night. Though, for some reason she'll only stay for a certain time before jumping up and running away. She's small and sleek and likes to have a wrestle with Milo though really doesn't like Murphy.
I say that she's called Pansy because we had Freesia at the time so the flower theme was fitting. But to be honest, I was at the height of my bandom love then and a certain guitar may have been an inspiration. Thankfully she didn't come into our lives a few years later or she'd be called Sparkle Bass.

Date: 2021-02-26 03:15 pm (UTC)It amuses me that Murphy is frightened of Pansy because he's twice her size. For a small cat she has quite the presence it seems.

Pansy is so cute! I remember you posting pics of her and Milo when she was still little. It's good to hear they're still best friends. And that Murphy is terrified of her :-)

Date: 2021-03-03 04:39 pm (UTC)Spending my Lush gifts cards was great. I still prefer going into the shop and actually looking and smelling all the products, but the online shopping was very satisfying too. Plus, it meant I got another box of melting packaging peanuts to play with *g*
Yep, Pansy and Milo have always enjoying hanging out. I think him being so placid really works for her in terms of them getting along. It evens out her feral edginess a little.
