turpsI've just had a nice long talk to Corey on the phone. His girlfriend has just had her first COVID jab and is feeling pretty rotten and at one point he told her she should lie down instead of following him around. A natural nurse he's not it seems. We were talking about when he'd have the jab, but imagine it'll be a while yet as he's a healthy twenty-something. Hopefully, it'll happen before he goes back to work fully and back to serving/managing inside of the clubs, but I still suspect it'll be months.
We dropped off a package of books and magazines for my MiL yesterday and going into the hospital is weird. You get temp checked going in, must wear a mask and sanitise hands and can only go as far as reception to either drop things off or pick up dirty clothes from patients. It's just this surreal feel, but the measures are very much needed and something I agree with, but still, for those that aren't seriously ill the lack of any physical visitors at all must be hard.
It's so cold today, so yet again am grateful for my knock-off oodie. It was even snowing earlier, which was unexpected. It didn't stick and stopped quickly though, and since then it's been cold and grey.
After another crowded and frustrating grocery shop last weekend I'm heading off for cat food etc once James finishes work when the shops should be quieter. Until then I've new Wandavision to watch and then I may have a look at the h/c exchange sign up. At which point I'll inevitably back out slowly while muttering, I don't understand and tell myself I have ages to sign up yet. Which I do, but it's the fact I'll tell myself that every day until the last minute that could be the problem.
